How I Started:
I was a cop. A beat buddy of mine got me interested in power lifting. We started working out. I got stronger.
I have been out of police work for just over four years, now. I took a couple of years off from serious training, but started up again after a friend contacted me about power lifting. We are trying to re-build ourselves.
Why I Love It:
I don't know. It sort of grounds me to know that the effects don't come cheap. I enjoy the feeling of pushing myself to see what I am capable of. I am always looking to get stronger, but I am now changing my philosophy to bettering my health with strength as an added benefit instead of "strong at all costs."
How I Stay Motivated:
I have a new motivation and goal. My health and my kids. I have not been serious until now. I thought I was, but I was not watching my food intake. My son told me I was fat, the other day. It is time to get serious.
To be a strong competitor in this years Highland games (Oct.)
Goal (Long):
this will be my first Highland games competition. I am very excited and anxious to compete. I have three months to prepare myself for the events. Training will consist of: odd lifting; cardio sessions; weight training; and explosive power drills.
The better shape i am in, the more competative I will be.

I want to LOSE 40 lb

I must admit, I haqve not been training as I should. I was on vacation, last week. Before that, I was so busy with life, that I have been truely neglecting my workout. I finally decided to get serious and put myself on a training regimen. Today, is Day 1 (all over, again). I got up...
Sorry to hear about the bum shoulder. Mine flares up from time to time and slows me down. Highland Games? I haven't heard of those before. I'm still hard at it. 6 or 7 days a week. Just finally figured out I'm not 18 anymore and starting limiting my lifting to two days in a row. Seems to be working. Keep at it, man.
