Background

When I Started: Jan 2009
HOW I STARTED:

For a long time I was quite fat and I didn't like it at all. After shredding much weight off by under-eating, I ended up with a weight I'm comfortable with. Now I want to 'set my house in order' by gaining muscle and losing some remaining fat, while keeping or increasing my weight

WHY I LOVE IT:

It's all about the challenge, pushing the limits of the body, and then witnessing the results.

tough day!

Squats are the only exercise that makes me angry LOL. I become so frustrated when I see I can't lift the bar that I become maaaad at my body. It felt tough because today I increased the weight a little bit, now 165lb. My goal is to squat 225lb, still one year away according to my past progress rate.

Another positive note is that I also increased the weight in the single leg presses. I'm finally pressing 3x45lb on each leg!!! It was a great satisfaction to mount the third big plate on the rack. According to my past progress rate, it'll take me about four months to mount the fourth p...

Finally! I did one press with one 45lb plate on each side. I feel like I graduated at something, that I’m on a different level now. I’m mindful I could only do 1 rep, but this is a big step for me. I still remember the very first time I tried to do a bench press. I loaded the bar with one 35lb plate on each side, pulled it out of the hooks, lowered it…and I couldn’t pull it up! One guy had to come to lift the bar off my chest. Talk about shame

I bought yesterday a BIG chunk of meat to roast for $18lb. After 4 hours of baking I eagerly took the pan out of the oven to find out that half of the meat had evaporated!! It was a pitiful lump what I took out, compared to what I had put it. I felt I had been scammed of my $18. It reminded me how people in the town used to add water to the wine. Now they use hormones and who knows what to fill the muscles of the cow with water.

LilMogul re: protein- yes, i do drink protein shakes. the thing i was doing wrong apparently, is our bodies can only manage about 40g at a time and the rest is wasted. so i was counted on most of my protein to come from my shake (about 120g) instead of spreading it out. thanks very much for reading my blog! i hope you have a great wknd!
