As a weakling kid, I got picked on a lot. I took up lifting to deter bullys. It worked.
Why I Love It:
I continue to bodybuild because my body responds well to working out and I like the results. I also like carrying the results of my hard work everywhere I go.
I went 193 with a basic and incomplete workout progam about 14 years ago. My program is more open minded now. I would like to compete at a local level before I am 45 years old. 200 lbs should be a good starting point for that goal.
I forgot that I was having a problem with that a few weeks ago. But, whatever the problem was a few weeks ago went away by the next day. I think it was a system issue or maintenance.
If it's working and not slowing down your benching I say go for it - I also do a little extra tricep work on the same routine, but usually after the benching to totally wear my arms out. Seems to be working for me so far as my strength is going up ahead of schedule, but I'm still waiting for that increase in arm size...
Holleration! The back and waist are looking good boo:-)
Hope your doing well. I finally made it back on the space for a minute and thought I come through. I put up a new blog. Feel free to swing in.
Thanks - I look forward to hearing how you like it. I've started it again myself and am already happy with the gains I've made in just a few workouts! Btw, your back looks great in your profile picture. I must have missed it earlier. Have a great weekend!
You can do other work - but I wouldn't do too much extra that involves the chest. At first the workout seems easy, but as the weights move up you'll find that it get's tough fairly quickly and you'll need more time to recover. Good luck and let me know how it works for you!
May I suggest a couple of things. First the Tylenol/Advil combo is MAGIC! Second, maybe try a topical cream called Topricin. Phil Valenti from here on bb.com (my online trainer until my contract w/ him ended in April) suggested this to me. It is expensive and I only just started using it so I can't say if it works or not but he is a fan of it.
I think I know what you mean. My bench pressing days are over, I'm afraid :( I DON'T EVER want my shoulder to hurt as it did EVER again! I will find an exercise to replace benching.
Thanks Jason, me, too. I really need direction - someone to tell me what to do. Personal trainers are just so darned expensive tho. Am thinking of hiring one to train me 2x/month. Maybe that will be more affordable. Gotta stop THINKING about it and DO something about it! I just need the time to FIND one!
Great pictures (your transformation is truly inspiring!) and an even better profile. What you wrote shows you clearly a complete man (brains and brawn). Thanks for posting!
Hey Jason. Too bad you haven't been able to stay with your workout lately. So, the farmer needs wood? You cut trees and split the wood for him? And my shoulder is GOOD! ALMOST pain free. I am still unable to do certain movements (like twisting my arm) and I still cannot bench press or do flys but I am SO HAPPY not to be in pain 24/7! Thanks for asking :)
