When I Started:
1992
How I Started:
I started lifting when I was a competitive swimmer in High School and College. I didn't lift for size, but for my sport. I happened to be naturally good at it, at least compared to others. After that, I stared working out with buddies mainly working on beach muscles.I had a college friend that was a amateur bodybuilder. He showed me the basics. After learning how to lift properly, I just read up on diet.
Why I Love It:
I have to do something physically taxing a few times a week to keep sane. Bodybuilding was the most fun thing I've found to meet this need. I like seeing improvements in physique and the thrill of setting a PR in the gym.
How I Stay Motivated:
Setting a positive example for my family, especially my almost 2 year old son. I let myself get sloppy and out of shape once and I WILL NEVER GO BACK.
BB Accomplishments:
I lost a total of 60 lbs. I can't really consider that an accomplishment since I never should have been that out of shape.
