I was always that kid in school who nobody wanted to pay any attention to. I did everything on my own. Raced freestyle Motocross. I played football for high school; Running back. Started "lifting" when I was a sophomore. Started Bodybuilding October 2008. NO TURNING BACK!
Why I Love It:
The art, the pumps, the thrills, the pain, the suffering, the triumph, the endorphins, the stares, the glory, the knowledge.

Ok cool :). Yea pretty good. 5-8 good medium/high protein meals a day. workout 3 days a week. chest/tri, back/bi/forearms/calfs. legs/shoulders/traps. and normally mom/wed/thurs :).

What's up? Just want to know how things are going. I'm taking a course in the evening. I'd forgotten how hectic the end of the semester can be. I got a reminder last week in having to write a paper. Good times, eh? :) I had to do some exercises at home to accommodate this. I was good to return to the gym yesterday.

I have two questions--1. if one side (left) is stronger than the other side (right), does it make sense to do more dumbbell exercises or wait for the imbalance to even out on its own? 2. Is it better to focus on doing 8-10 reps or can I mix in a 6-8 rep range? Just thinking of new ways I can perform the workouts...

Hey Joe, sorry about your job. I know that you will find a new one quickly. I am either going to do the Novice MI again or start with the Flint/Mid Michigan show in April. If my contest dieting goes well I may just do a show in early March with a few others from the gym. We shall see. -Jeff

It sounds like your post comp training is continuing to go well! I've been working on adding lean mass and so far so good. I have until Jan 1 to add a bit more before cut time. -Jeff

Do you think that workouts using less than usual weight are worth doing or is it better to take time off from the gym? I tried doing a "light" workout today (and it felt good), but I don't want to prevent progress, either.

A question--Are there good exercises that target the long head of the triceps? The head on the outside of my arm is starting to develop, but the part of the triceps on the other side is not developing as well.
