Originally, when I saw a large photo of young Arnold Schwarzenegger in a magazine.
Why I Love It:
It keeps my physique from getting any worse!
How I Stay Motivated:
Looking in the mirror is enough. A photo of the amazing Colt Wynn in my gymbag also helps.
BB Accomplishments:
Well, I'm certainly not a competitor; I don't have the genetics or the will power needed. But having been in many gyms and attended many shows over the years, I found that I can still contribute to the sport by helping young competitors get started. I find that if I attend prejudging, I usually agree with the judges, and I could probably be a judge if I wanted to. Hence, I feel that I am qualified to help those new to competition do what is needed to satisfy what the judges are looking for.
My help has principally come in these areas: helping with posing, providing information on shows and venues that I have attended, and in some cases, financial aid.
I can also give some advice recommending exercises, but not on nutrition or supplementation.
Among those I've helped, mostly in minor ways only, are: Doug Wentz, Chris Rademacher, Shane Giese, Shane Holiday, Jeff Melancon and Corey Mote.

Since I came to the conclusion long ago that I do not have what it takes to succeed in bodybuilding (other than just staying in semi-decent shape), I set the goal to help others succeed, based on my time in the gym and the 60+ contests I have witnessed, and photographed (not professionally) over the years. This is a great, if misunderstood, sport, and it is important to encourage its beginners and their parents. I've already co-sponsored a class winner at the Teen Nationals, and we appreciated the faith we had in each other. I'd like to continue to do that.
hey jim, you might not remember me.. But 3 years ago you commented on my back.. Great comment by the way. You might want to check back my bodyspace... you might be pretty surprised how good I fallowed that comment... :P
Hey thanks jim=) i hope i can succeed in this cuz i def and consitant and dedicated but i would love to do 2009 teen nationals but i dont know much about it and the eating thing im still trying to get my diet down
Hey Jim. I competed in Greensboro, North Carolina. I placed 4th out of 6th, BUT (yes there is a but, ha), the only reason that I didn't place any better was because I wasn't "tan enough." I had no idea that it made a that much of a difference. Anyway, thanx for the compliment.
I hate to break it to you but you have built yourself up to the point where you do not look good in that Ferrari, so in all honesty I think that I should hold onto it for a while.
Oh really, it's a standard and I can't use my left foot, oh pity.
Seriously, you are doing a great job and I congratulate you on your success.
Keep pushing hard.
I thought I would return the favor by offering you a little bit of diet help. I read in your goal that you’re attempting to lose weight. I believe the foods you consider “Health Foods” are hindering you from obtaining your goal. Check the box of Raisin Bran Crunch. Over 20g of sugar 45 carbs and 200g of sodium per cup! You would be better justified eating a candy bar, substitute plain oatmeal. Also be careful with the Oriental Chicken salad.
We will see! It's only my second show so I am learning. Keep in mind that I'm a SHW. Last show I lost more than I expected which left me scrambling at the 11th hour. As you can see from my weight index I lost 20lbs in less than 3 weeks so it comes off quick. BTW, Make sure your doors are locked on that Ferrari 308 Magnium PI. , I might blow your doors off coming by yeah!
Thanks for the Constructive criticism Jim. Check back in a few weeks to see if I have progress for the better. Hopefully I have! I'm from East Cobb as well. Walton High School buddy... Use to train with Buddy Prim over at PTI. Don't know if you know what that is then main event fitness.
