When I Started:
May, 2005
How I Started:
Got stuck deployed in Iraq and decided to just do it. I started in the gym with no idea what I was doing until I kept at it, asked enough questions, and put in the time. I still have to keep at it, ask a lot of questions and put in the time.
Why I Love It:
Nothing else can replace the satisfaction of kicking your own ass.
How I Stay Motivated:
Just prepping for upcoming military schools sets the pace for me. I just try to keep up with kids half my age.
BB Accomplishments:
Improved my APFT by 135 points.
I don't otherwise compete or get graded on anything.
People tell me I look all yoked up since I started lifting. It's nice to hear. Now I need to get all cut up.

jimmy.greenchanged Weight from 215 lbs. to 204 lbs., a 11 lb. loss in 22 days
Increase endurance, drop weight.
Carry 65 lbs 12 miles under 3 hours.
Improve distance running times.
Goal (Long):
I started in the gym while in Iraq and did what most guys do - went for pure power and mass. Now I have to undo some of that and gear up for endurance and stamina. I can still move a decent amount of weight around compared to my SF peers, but I get toasted on the runs and ruck marches.
Body fat is my biggest enemy. Must shed any weight that I don't need - probably some muscle too. I have 60 days left of preparation.
80+ S/Ups 2 min (done)
80+ P/Ups 2 min (done)
0:14:00 2 mi run (need 2 minute improvement)
3:00:00 12 mile w/65 lb ruck (need 6 minute improvement)
She obviously takes her body seriously and is totally hot, but she always has a smile on her face. I like that. I'm just not going to make all this effort if it doesn't make me happy.
Extremely well organized, I can't operate without a plan and I seem to always be updating and refining mine. Gotta have good, valid, current sources of information. Stevie P, keep doing what you do.
Day 1 was who knows when. A few years ago. I'm just tracking from today forward. I will report for Special Forces Assessment and Selection on October 3 and then try to ignore pain for about 3 weeks. It's going to suck if I don't use the rest of my time wisely.
