When I Started:
How I Started:
Have worked out for much of my adult life. But as the family grew, so did the responsibilities and my personal time disappeared. Most of my 30's I worked out regularly and was in the best shape of my life. Shortly after turning forty, my life went through a series of disruptions and my workouts stopped. About the same time, my body began some natural changes. My metabolism changed and I could no longer stay ahead of the weight gain.
I've been back to working out for several years now, but I have only managed to stop my body from getting worse. I havent been able to stick with the right program to get back the body I once had.
My efforts have allowed me to gain muscle and strength, but it is cover by 30% bodyfat.
But I'll never quit. I will reach my goal.
Why I Love It:
How I Stay Motivated:
That's why I'm here. The guys like me who have reached their goals, or who are reaching their goals are my motivation to work at achieving my goals.
It says that its relaxed side, but I was so tense taking this pic.
Look around. Men who would have been too embarassed to take off their shirts are posting pics showing sprouts of pubes an graphic silouettes of genitals thru their underwear. Glad I'm not like that.

Goal (Long):
I once had the body that I want to have again. At 5'9 I would ideally want to weigh 172 lbs. But I really dont care what I weigh if I meet all of my bodystat goals. At 40 yrs old, I was athletic, strong and cut. I was never ripped and dont need to be. I want to have the strength and energy to do any physical activity that suits my fancy. I want to be happy to appear in public without a shirt. I have no desire to compete on stage but want to compete everyday with how I look compared to other guys. I want the neighbor women to take a second look when I'm in the yard without a shirt. I want them to wish their husbands looked as good and I want their husbands to wish the looked as good, too. MOST of all, I want the intimacy in my marriage to be as hot and plentiful as it once was. I want to look younger than my age like I did in the first half of my life. Finally, I want the self-confidence that I had when I was in good shape and lived up to my potential in every area of my life. I want everyone I come in contact with to see me as an example of what they too can achieve and not as a reminder of what they dont have.
How has bodybuilding and fitness helped and/or changed your family life?
I am not there yet. But when I was fit and strong, my self-esteem and self-confidence were always high. I performed better in every aspect of my life. I made more money cause I performed at a higher level at work. But the best result of a hot fit bod was that thye sex was great... and more frequent. Believe me, when I was buff, I was really goooood in the sack. lolI am not there yet. But when I was fit and strong, my self-esteem and self-confidence were always high. Thank you very much. Myself and all of the Service Members appreciate the support. I am getting ready for my third trip over to the big sand box. I will be training most of the summer and going over before fall.
I agree that backing off the weights entirely would be a grave mistake and a quick way to lose hard earned muscle. I am doing everyother full body to keep my size but i do need to cut a good amount of fat so I am going to up the cardio and quit binging at night.
no trainer, i have been working out since i was 18 and i combined all the things that worked for me. i trained like my life depended on it. thank you again. good luck
Hey thanks for asking! Of course I do haha. I’ll put them in my profile now. I’ll get pictures up later. I haven’t been posting consistently. I wanted to make it worth it before I did.
Hey Jim, things are going great over here! Just getting prepared to ship out. How have things been with you? I'm definitely still hitting the iron hard, but also been hitting the pavement hard. Really trying to improve my running. August 11th is still my date to leave, so I got 6 weeks left. I'll try to get a pre-basic pic up and a post-basic pic up to see how I've changed.
Business is going really well which means that that boxing has taken a back seat. I am still lifting but havn't had time this week. I am going to start tonight doing full body work outs and focus more of my training on drill type excersises like walking lunges. I have been eating terribly as of late also so I have decided to that I need to cut fat more than I need to gain Muscle. That leads to the reason I havn't updated my stats. hows it goin with you.
Hi Jim
So far the summer is going great!! I've worked out in some way every day except for last Monday this month. My son took this picture of me this morning. I always knew I had really long arms but geez............. lol
Hey thank you Jim! I did ok in the 5k. I'm by no means a fast runner but I do it for the challenge ya know. I myself got back in shape last year. It's a tough road but we need discipline and consistency.
Best of luck with your goals man. You got this!
Hey Jim, thanks. Hey, how ya been bro!? Yea my son just turned 18... yea, where does the time go bro!? :) ...thats why I cherih the time I spend w/ my kids & granddaughter so much, cause I know they grow up so fast!!!
Thanx for your comments. You can do pretty much anything with enough dedication. Just dont rush anything, cause injuring yourself sets you further back than the rushing could have put you ahead. Keep me informed on how it goes. ---X
