I started working out seriously on weights when I met my first husband in 1995. He was bodybuilding at the time and inspired me to transform my body to be stronger, more sculpted, and well conditioned.
Why I Love It:
I have been doing yoga for 15 years but working out with weights drew dramatic results in a very short period of time. I am a diehard fitness enthusiast and believe there is room for all types of working out.
How I Stay Motivated:
I read magazines and visit websites that show major body transformations. They are always so inspiring and I like creating new goals each year.
I also like to keep current on what fitness and figure competitors are looking like each year, and wanting to achieve the same symmetry and muscle definition.
BB Accomplishments:
None yet! I am hoping to do well in my first competition on October 4th.
To compete in a local figure competition on October 4th 2008. To place in the top 5.
Goal (Long):
When I was 25 I fell in love with weightlifing, and seeing the transformation of my body. I loved gaining strength, and having discipline over what I ate. I seriously considered fitness competing - that was 14 years ago.
Now I am 39 and 3 pregnancies later, I am finally ready to try it all over again. With yoga as my mainstay in the past 10 years or so, lifting weights is a requited love I am happy to be with once again.
Now I dream of doing my first figure competition and seeing what results I can gain in the next 12 months.
Ideally - I would like to gain about 3 or 4 pounds of muscle. I only weigh 95 pounds so that is a lot for someone my size!
I have my work cut out for me so I am going to try my best and track my progress here.
Weight Goal:
I want to GAIN 3 lb
Bodyfat Goal:
8%
Upcoming Contest:
Ironman Bodybuilding, Figure, and Fitness Competition
My check in with Pete, my nutritionist went well last night. I am now at 10% body fat. Only one more to go - maybe two. We'll see. This is my first contest, I don't want to look too thin.
Next week - at 3 weeks out, my diet will change. He told me he will put me on a 2 day zero carb, then...
