How I Started:
All of my life, I have understood the importance of regular exercise. However, after the birth of my 3rd child, I really thought that I could never have the “Hot Mom” look and was forever confined to baggy sweatshirts and jeans. Having this mind-set, I went ahead and ate and drank what I wanted without much thought…fried chicken, pizza, ice cream, sodas, alcohol-- you name it. Before I knew it, I realized that most of clothes in my closet were too tight and I could not even fit into my favorite jeans! Worst of all, I hated looking at myself in the mirror.
In the spring of 2006, I finally got a spark of motivation to change the way I looked. At the small gym I am a Group Fitness Instructor at, I learned of a “Beach Body” contest that included instructors and members. With some encouragement from my family and co-workers and shorts/bathing suit weather quickly approaching, (and kids loving to swim everyday at the neighborhood pool), I committed to the contest starting getting results and never looked back.
Why I Love It:
Love the way I look and feel. I honestly have never felt better in my life!
How I Stay Motivated:
There are many things keeping me going. First, setting realistic goals and achieving them was a huge motivator. I also am blessed with a supporting family and many friends that motivate me with positive feedback
BB Accomplishments:
Placed 4th in Figure tall division- April 2008 SNFB Southern Open
