When I Started:
How I Started:
I have always been active. But, senior year in college when I quit color guard and winter guard, I ballooned to 220. That was in May of 2002. I was working two jobs and I didn't have the energy to workout. So I just changed my diet and lost 20lbs within 6 months and kept it off. Then, in November of 2003, I decided I wanted to train for distance running. I did alot of research and built a beginner plan. February 2, 2004 I put that plan into action. My goal was to just run 30 mins nonstop since I couldn't run 1 minute without gasping for air. May 17, 2004 I met that goal. Then I just started running farther and farther, did several races and even a half marathon. Well, a bad knee injury has me sidelined from running indefinately so I have moved my focus to building and competing. Weight training has always been a huge part of my plan, but now it is my primary focus.
Why I Love It:
I love challenging myself. I love seeing how far I can push myself. I love being strong and feeling strong. It is very empowering.
How I Stay Motivated:
I stay motivated by tracking my progress. Nothing makes me work harder than to see how far I've come.
BB Accomplishments:
None.... yet....

This pic was taken after the Columbus Half Marathon October 21 of 07. My father and I ran it together. As soon as my doctor says its okay to do so, I will start training again to run.
I have a decent muscular base. This pic is so motivating.

I started going to the gym in the morning. Yes, I am up before most everyone else. I get up at 10 to 5am and get to the gym no later than 5:45am and do my workouts. It is AMAZING! I am hypoglycemic so I do not have the luxury of being able to workout on an empty stomach so I have...
There must be something about Jennifer's and running! We have similar physiques so I'm interested to see how you do. Keep up the good work and I hope I can match your motivation!!
Yeah, you workout looks great especially for what your trying to do. One I might add for abs and core workout are reverse crunches, and on some of my workouts instead of going directly to the next excersize I do planks, so I can get my breath, but I'm still keeping my abs tight and working my core. let me know if you have questions about the reverse crunches, theres a few deffirent things you can do with that. My abs where tight for a week after some of these excersizes.
its 80% diet, I figured that out after people telling me for a year or so straight! I started doing snacks every 2 hours, like I would have oatmeal or something for breakfast, and 2 hours later a granola bar, 2 hours later a protein bar, 2 hours later a small lunch, 2 hours later a tuna kit, 2 hours later a PBandJ then 2 hours later a small dinner and right before bed a protein shake, on a work out day I had a shake after the work out with my other supplements then another shake before bed.
