I am a former college offensive lineman who still has a lot of muscle mass from my playing days but I need to strip away my "playing weight" fat. I want to get shredded before next summer comes around.
Why? What are the pros and cons of working out there?
Pros- a wide range of available equipment, people to interact with, pool, hot tub, sauna, massage, etc. Nice gyms are hard to beat if you can afford the dues.

What should look for in a gym? What should you avoid?
CLEANLINESS!!! Knowledgeable CERTIFIED trainers, good equipment, necessary safety equipment (clips & collars), enough available equipment for the # of members.
Avoid gyms that are not properly sterilized and ones that have personal trainers that don't have to be certified. Sorry, but having your high school diploma and a small amount of knowledge does not qualify you to have other people's health and wellness in your hands.CLEANLINESS!!! How has bodybuilding and fitness helped and/or changed your family life?
I continue to try to inspire my father and brother to be more active and get healthier. The stress and work schedule make consistency difficult for them, but both are doing much better.
