When I Started: Jun 2004
HOW I STARTED:

This last time, after my first son was born. Tired of being fat with no energy.

WHY I LOVE IT:

You know it has become more of a lifestyle that I enjoy. It is really cool to talk with other people, men and women, that share a common interest of staying fit.

My Workout Program

Got almost a year in with Arnolds program from his encyclopedia and had great gains. To change things up I am doing a modified 5x5 for 4 weeks then 2 weeks of HVT. I'll stick with this for a while before I jump back to the advanced section in Arnolds' plan. I will start the end of March on a contest diet and excersise prep plan just to see if I can do it and to finally get all the fat gone and see what a six pack looks like.

8 Weeks again

This time it's 8 weeks till a bet I have on dropping enough fat to see the hidden "six".  First week down I've lost 5 pounds (to bad first is always easiest).  I am about 2500 calories a day with about a 275g protein intake so a lot of Whey protein (conc and isolates at night).  Carbs are cut after 3 and I'm trying to keep the high GI out of the picture all together (with the exception of post workout from time to time). The workout I am changing over from a 5x5 routine I've been doing back to the Arnold competition lifting routine he outlines in his encyclopedia. ...

I've really felt a difference in deadlifts and squats and just feeling better overall.  The routine has really had some thought put into it once you start using it (one of those things that unless you try it, don't knock it).   I would normally do only back related lifts on a back day but no more.  An example are the straight legged deadlifts and good mornings I do on leg day.  I use to sometime get a stiff back from time to time when going heavy but no more.  I feel the combination of exercices, and they fact that you don't kill your self with to many at once, is...

Well still need to get some pictures up.  In the mean time, I did do some recent measurements that I also need to post (should do this at home where I keep everything).  Everything has gone up.  Arms 1/4 inch to legs a about 1 1/8.  One thing that is bugging me though is my gut.  I've decided to start really targeting cardio days.  Instead of easing into it, this past Saturday I decided to go with my wife to her spinning class.  Lady teaching did a great job and even pulled out some Metallica and Tool.  I tell you what though; that was a good workout.&nb...
