When I started the Police academy I weighted in around 140lbs. I was in great shape, but I wanted to be stronger than the average dirt bag on the street. So I began power lifting on my own. 3 years later I reached around 170 and it's stayed pretty much around 165-170.
Why I Love It:
I liked to see the results improve my performance on the street. It directly effected my ability on the streets! I love the results and control. It's like shaping a clay pot and I'm the potter. Now, I find myself enjoy just the shaping aspect.
How I Stay Motivated:
The results keep me motivated.. the knowledge that my body is healthy and I'm proud to see the progress.
BB Accomplishments:
My best accomplishment was 170lbs at 10% body fat. I topped my bench at 250 and squated 270. I've dropped to 225 and 250 now and increased my body fat to 17% (not by choice). It kind of sucks when your abs disappear!
The camera phone doesn't do it much justice, but it's all I have right now. It's hard to see, but most of the fat % collected around the midsection covering my abs. I'd never seen this happen before until I stopped attention toward my diet.
I've found I've increased the shoulder, back, and arms a bit over the last month
I missed arms yesterday due to some unplanned events.. I leave this weekend on a trip and was supposed to finish this week today. Anybody think if I train arms (about an hour) and then right into shoulders and abs (about 45min) it would be overtraining and do more harm than good?...
This workout is designed to increase my one rep max. It is a 12 week program. It is a power lifting workout not a ody building workout. There are three aux workouts that follow on Day one and Day three. Pull-ups, curls, and tricepts. It is based on starting out with a ORM...
Thanks man! My biggest thing now is working on my belly...what is your routine? I been doing massive amounts of flutter kicks along with my situps for the APFT. It's getting there but a ways to go.
Hey man, it's me from the ArmyOCS board. You're in way better shape than I! But if you still want to workout sometime at a local HS we should. I run laps and mix in stairs and sprints. Good overall workout that way. Stay in touch!
Thanks for the blog comment brother, unfortunately, some people that's the way to go. Keep at it, your bodyfat is good for getting in some INTENSE work, but not too high to bog you down!
Why? Does my presence here bother you? ;) JUST KIDDING! Actually, I have never really counted the time I spend on here. It's definitely MORE when I am motivated!! :D
Thanks for stopping by my blog. I could tell you knew EXACTLY what I was talking about. It's like they are saying, we can see that's working, stop it! It makes us uncomfortable.
Hey man another from Eugene! Thanks for swinging by - looks like you've gotten great results. Have you tried crossfit? It's a lot of fun and a new angle at fitness. You should come by the garage sometime for a workout.
Very good over here, just joined a great workout class ill be going to every thursday. I tried it out yesterday and loved it. It going to do great things for my strength! How about you?
You can definitely tell that you're gaining some width in your lats...and your last blog entry brought up memories from the Academy of working out with this MACHINE of a guy and his Bas Rutten MP3s. I'm just glad the room was padded!! Keep up the awesome work...
