When I Started: 1989
How I Started: As a kid it was something cool my dad did.
Why I Love It: Not enough space to describe.
How I Stay Motivated: Staying motivated ALL the time is THE challange.

A lot of people run a race to see who is fastest. I run to see who has the most guts, who can punish himself into exhausting pace, and then at the end, punish himself even more.
Steve Prefontaine

How does a kid from Coos Bay, with one leg longer than the other win races?
Steve Prefontaine

I'm going to work so that it's a pure guts race at the end, and if it is, I am the only one who can win it.
Steve Prefontaine

Somebody may beat me, but they are going to have to bleed to do it.
Steve Prefontaine

To give anything less than your best is to sacrifice the gift.
Steve Prefontaine

You have to wonder at times what you're doing out there. Over the years, I've given myself a thousand reasons to keep running, but it always comes back to where it started. It comes down to self-satisfaction and a sense of Achievement.
Steve Prefontaine
BB Accomplishments: None Yet big enough to brag about
Forum Signature: "The important thing is this: to be able at any moment to sacrifice what we are for what we could become."

"The best thing you have to offer the world is yourself. You don't have to copy anyone else. If you do, your second best. To acheive success is to be first, and that's being yourself."

How many reps per set do you usually do? Why?
Depends on my training goal and body part. It varies from as little as 4-6 reps all the way up to things like my marathon which is 57 reps.
- Updated Sep 9, 2008 10:59am

How long do you rest between sets on average? Why?
1-2 minutes. Just long enough to walk over and get a sip of water from the fountain.
- Updated Sep 9, 2008 10:59am

What celebrity body would you most like to have? Why?
"The Austrian OAK" of course!

That's great, glad you are keeping active. I am doing more running. At 220, but should be at 205 to try to shed some fat. or at 230, with muscle. I need to get into a regular lifting routine again.
