Location: Florida, United States
Level: Pro
Type: Men's Bodybuilding
Bodyweight: 213 lb (96.8 kg)

Comments: Kai and I had a great time...who couldn't in sunny Florida!?!

My prep went as perfectly as it could have...and the placing shows!

While we were out there, we met a Marlyn of Liquid Sun Rayz (www.LiquidSunRayz.com)...she was great, her product was awesome! I used it with a shoot for NAB (www.NorthAmericanBodies.com) and others...then on stage it went great too!

This event led Kai and I to become more involved in the FAME/WNSO Organization. Jeff and Mindy (the founders) are a great couple and care more about the atheltes than any other organization I have worked with or know of. They fight the fight!

And...congrats to all the other competitors out there...they were all Body Proud!!!

Comments: This was my first professional show with FAME and Jeff and Mindy exceeded all my expectations! Except for one small thing…the registration was a little longer than I had planned for. But, it allowed for time to meet some new people, see some old acquaintances and actually unwind a little.

In regards to my contest prep, I discovered, with a little help from a colleague in Houston, that using rice cakes in the loading phase was causing me to flatten-out and actually over dehydrate. We tried a couple new things and it worked like a charm! There were only two areas I feel I could have done “better” in hind-sight. The first was to have held my poses longer. An hour of mandatory poses and quarter-turns was BRUTAL! The second was that I wish I had researched what they looked for in their posing during the pre-judging. Coming from another organization, I became accustomed to modifying some of the mandatory poses…which I think I was scored down for in this contest. With fixing those two things…and simply improving from show to show…I don’t see how they will be able to deny my presence in the future!

Coming in second to Derrick Brown felt great! I have competed with him in the past and when I found out he was in this contest, I chose to do a Terminator 2 theme…he used a Terminator theme in our last contest. I thought it would add a little irony between the two of us. The only unfortunate part was that I didn’t get to do my “planned” routine since I was still cramping from the hour of pre-judging.

So, my congrats go out to Derrick and to Jeff and Mindy for an amazing show! I am sure there are many more great things to come with FAME!!!
