Overall Goal: Lose a lot of fat (about 115 lbs), hopefully by June 2010. Following that goal, I will next focus increasing my strength.
Fit Status:
Jogging in the rain was very cold, my jacket didn't keep the rain out, but it was ok. I'm doing better on cardio, but weights are lax.

When I Started:
How I Started:
I've always been out of shape. I wanted to be fit and strong, so I bought a book on weight training, another on dieting, as well as a multi-bench and some free wieghts.
Why I Love It:
Every little bit of progress I see in my physical development. Each time I look in the mirror and the fat is less prominent and the muscles are more evident. The days when I hit a new high in a lift. These thoughts and fairy dust could make me fly. Seriously though, each achievement is a victory that brings me pride.
I also like that light headed floaty feeling after a really good workout.
How I Stay Motivated:
I stay motivated by looking at the Charts here on bodybuilding.com I love seeing the up slope as steep as possible on the weights lifted chart, and the down-slope on the weight chart.

Goal (Long):
I have always been heavy, even in my early childhood. About 5 years back I had my weight down to within about 40 pounds of ideal with a fair amount of strength built up. I let both slide and have recently restarted a fitness regimen of diet and exersize. My preference is more toward weight lifting. I find cardio boring and much more difficult to do, so that is the area I will have to work harder to improve.
