Background
I've worked out my whole life, but I never lifted weights until I started working here.
It's definitely a different kind of workout than what I've been used to. I have always done cardio (dancing/running/yoga, etc.), which I still crave, but I love the combination of building muscle and getting my sweat on.

Last night I did a pull-up! This may sound silly, but for me this is a huge accomplishment. I'm all about mini-goals and achievements, and the fact that I've never been able to do a pull-up has tortured me! Pull-up mini goal...CHECK. Next goal...5 pull-ups!

After a weekend of living it up sunny Las Vegas, I'm ready to put down the fork and pick up the weights. Along with my husband and our friend Xanti, I started the Kris Gethin trainer today. I'm really looking forward to the new challenge! 12 weeks - just in time for San Inazio. My jota is going to kick butt at the Basque Festival this year!

Chip times are in and...damn you, Robie! After 5 years of running it, this was going to be my last Race to Robie Creek...also known as "The Hardest 1/2 Marathon in the West". I'm not a fast runner, I know this, but I like to set my personal goals, and each year have beat my own time. This year, my goal up the beastly mountain was 2:30:00. The combination of my IT band on my right knee along with 84 degrees, I missed my goal by 4 minutes! GRRR! (Although I did beat my best time by 4... Go to BodyBlog
