I was always the small guy on the football team, and started lifting to help me get more playing time. Eventually, I realized that I enjoyed weightlifting as much as competitive sports.
Why I Love It:
It's a stress reliever, it keeps me healthier, and for my own fragile ego.
How I Stay Motivated:
I keep a workout journal. I like to look back at where I was in previous years and see improvement. I take some, but not a lot, of progress photos. I like to be "bigger" and stronger than people who really are larger than I am.

Just wanted to see this one lined up next to the new ones.
Which pro bodybuilder/fitness/figure competitor has the ideal physique? Why?
Melvin Anthony/Ava Cowan. Anthony is muscular beyond belief, but can still MOVE. He is what bodybuilders SHOULD be. Ava Cowan looks amazing when she's ripped, and soo gorgeous when she's "just" in shape. Beautiful muscle and yet still so feminine.Melvin Anthony/Ava Cowan. How many reps per set do you usually do? Why?
My body responds very well to 6 rep sets. Allows me measure my progress and increase weight every week. I do cycle over to high reps (15-20) for 2-4 weeks when if feels like I might be starting to plateau. My body responds very well to 6 rep sets. How long do you rest between sets on average? Why?
With lower reps I rest for 2-3 minutes between sets. With higher reps I TRY to only rest for 60-90 secs, but sometimes it depends on how fatigued i get.
Ok, ok, ok. ENOUGH talking and it's time to be DOING. The workouts are going well--they have never been the problem. I'm back on the high rep/short intervals phase of the workouts, but am taking a day off between for more recovery. I swear I'm sore for 2 days after each one. GOT to...
I just started week 2 of the Max OT program. 12 week program that concentrates on 4-6 rep sets and no more than 9 working sets per bodypart. The entire workout can be found by googling the keywords "max OT." The idea is to completely concentrate on intensity and focus and progression.
