What is your favorite "healthy" dessert? Give the recipe if applicable.
yes, yogurt with granola in it. it makes into a full snack and i dont feel hungry afterwards. just watch the sugar amounts in each and you wont have to worry about it being too much of a cheat food.
will, wtf.
tell me how you got this way
you have made some serious gains. i cant train proper at the moment because of my wrist. its ghey.
nice work though, that new pic shows youve been getin busy.
respect
I think strength can go up regardless. I mean my strength has been increasing while cutting. You've definitely made some great progress, Will. Just think how much better you'll look when you cut down compared to last time!
LOL at "fatty pie" every time you say that it cracks me up! Dude, like I said it's your call, but I have heard as body fat gets higher it screws up insulin response therefore it can make gaining fat even easier. I've also heard that the body can put on muscle at a better rate when leaner. I personally think you look better a bit leaner anyway.
You're lookin BIG, Will! You've made some awesome progress, but dude, it's time to cut... maybe not for months to get ripped, but at least to trim off some of that "you-know-what" :) Your call though...
Yeah, I'm the same way... I can never really tell, and then I'll put on a shirt that I haven't worn in a while and it doesn't fit the same or something. Or, yeah, when I measure myself and see the difference. I think it's weird when people say they can see themselves growing after doing something different for like a week...
There ya go... 12 reps is in the range for gaining muscle mass according to the research. Now incorporate 30-60 sec rests and make sure each set is to failure and BLAMMO! Hahaha... I tried it yesterday w/ shoulders (10-15 reps, each set to failure, 30-60 sec rests) and man, was it a tough workout!
I just read something interesting in a NSCA journal: Research/tests have shown that there is a greater release of testosterone and GH with reps of 10-15 (each set to failure, so may need to decrease weight each set) and 30-60 sec rests. The studies compared that type of training with 5 x 5 w/ 2-3 min rests. So, subjects that trained for hypertrophy as opposed to strength had greater increases in muscle size. I thought it was interesting...
Yeah, I don't know much about it all... maybe once I learn more I'll tailor my training in regards to em. I think you're doin something right though since your progressing so well :)
I forget which is which, but fast and slow twitch muscle fibers have to do with endurance and speed if I'm remembering correctly. I haven't learned too much about them yet. Why?
I agree. Yeah, don't rush the weight on the bar too much and sacrifice good form, ya know? But, that's cool that you're makin such good progress. Hahaha you better get that food, bro! Y aneed to eat to grow and get stronger :) I'm outta here... talk to ya later.
Ya know what else? I bet after you finish this bulk and you do a good cut and get to the same bf% I'm at now your back will look just as good, bro. Maybe even better!
Dude, thanks! That's so awesome of you to say. For real! Ya know, there was something about your comment. I guess b/c we talk often, I could tell you were bein sincere; it meant a lot. The muscle that is rounded, I think this is what you're referin to, is the teres major. It's at the upper back; it's right above the lats. I always thought it was all lats back there until I took anatomy. The teres major is sort of rounded and then the lats are more straight and go down the side in an angle.
Yeah, I think some people get good results from poor form sometimes. I've seen guys who lift like jack@$$es and they're big. For the most part though the guys who look awesome lift w/ good form, and I feel the most in my muscles when I focus and lift w/ strict form. I do however do some reps here and there w/ a little cheating. Partly for my ego and partly just to see if it helps :)
