When I Started:
Jan, 2008
How I Started:
Last year in January '08, I decided that my prior life wasn't working for me. I was stressed out, I neglected all of my passions, I became very irritable. I lost 30 lbs last year but didn't finish my ultimate goal because I placed priority on other personal goals (A's in school for example, which I achieved).
This year, I'm picking up where I left off and am making my body top priority. I need to see physical change in my life. It's very important and will be a visual symbol of success in my personal goals.
Why I Love It:
Because I feel fantastic when I stick with a regimen! I go into a zone and forget about myself and my problems. I started out slowly- last January I made the decision (along with a lot of other life goals). The only time I could work out is 5am so I spent the month of Jan "attempting" to get up that early. It wasn't working and I was sick of myself. I reminded myself that if I don't make any changes, I won't see any changes. That worked and I've been waking up ever since. It's hard, but success requires hard work.
How I Stay Motivated:
I don't give into my excuses. As soon as I overthink things (maybe I should take tonight off), that's when I need to act. I remove temptation. I became vegetarian since I needed a passion (animals) to help me stay focused on the goal. All of this has really improved my willpower and action in other areas of my life too. I feel in control.
BB Accomplishments:
Last year, I lost 30lbs and increased my muscle definition.
As of January 2, 2009, I've started the Body for Life challenge. I've restricted my diet and have begun exercising 6x a week. I'm excited to see the improvements to my body!
My short term goal is to complete the Body for Life challenge and lose 20 lbs. I started January 2, 2009 and end March 27.
Goal (Long):
My short term goal is to complete the Body for Life challenge, end March 27 and reassess my goals. I hope to lose at least 20 lbs.

- reduce body fat to 17% by July 1, 2009.

Sorry to hear about your loss of "diet" motivation. I know how hard it is. If you seriously want a boost...I strongly recommend the "TNT" diet. It's a Mens Health book. But women can do it too. It seriously stops cravings. You can do this thing!
Hey girl! Haven't seen hide nor hair of ya in a coupla days. Hope all is well. What is your training for figure like lately? My diet is going really well and I have a very good workout schedule. Gonna change up the diet soon though. Have a great day! Ellen
7 or 8 years ago I spent a year in a medically supervised diet and exercise program and it had great results but then went back to college nights while working days and it all came back by grad time. Hang in there! It'll be fun!!!
Doing great! Work out are getting better! I understand about school and diet. When i was going through my grad program my diet was not the best in the beginning. But once I figured out my schedule it was easy. I want to loose 20 but I am shooting for 30. You look great keep it up and good luck, you can do it!
Oh My God! If Salmonella poisoning is anything like food poisoning. I feel very sorry for you. I had food poisoning once and was hospitalized. Take care of yourself and get back to the gym ASAP! You're competing soon! Right? Ellen
Now lemme guess....I lost you to tracker.com? Where'd ya go? I hope you're kicking butt and taking names. My workouts are awesome! I thought I would've lost all momentum over the holidays, but, geez, guess not! Take care. Ellen
Are you on BodyForLife-Tracker.com? It's a whole community of people who are doing body for life. I have a profile on there, but, I like this site better. There's a lady on there "livingroomwarrior" who is on the P90X infomercial. She could compete in figure. But thats all I know about it. Good luck in the coming days.
Hi ILGF.. Whats on the agenda for today? It's day 2 for the TNT diet for me. I feel great! It says you do your training at home. What program are you on? Have you heard of the P90X program? I heard good things about it, but, I don't see any real good leg workouts. Have a great day! Ellen
