About a year and a half ago (January 07 or so) I needed a drastic physical change. Health and fitness-wise I started viewing myself with a critical eye and went down a list of things I could do to improve everything about my myself. I was skinny and could hardly look at myself without some disdain, and add to that I hadn't worked out seriously since my high school track team.
I then made the decision to start training for a major triathlon that was going to be held locally and it was my goal to blast the competition out of the water (literally). Since then I have been serious about lifting and triathlon training ever since and have never looked back.
Why I Love It:
The self-satisfaction I feel when I can see the improvement I've made. Not to mention the feeling of completing a grueling workout and the euphoria that follows.
How I Stay Motivated:
My biggest fear is being that dude who comes home from work and sits down to watch TV for the rest of the night only to repeat and perpetuate the process the next day. That's what keeps me motivated.
