Why I Love It:
I used to love it because it was a great stress reliever. Nothing better than taking out some aggression on the weights. But then, as I started to see changes in my physique, I started enjoying it because I knew I was building a better me. Now, I just like the way I feel at the gym. Strong, independent, sexy.... lol... Ok- so I'm not quite there yet, but sometimes I feel like it! haha!!
How I Stay Motivated:
Look at before and after pics of myself. Remind myself of what I want and the only way to get it is through blood, sweat, and tears!!!
BB Accomplishments:
Lost almost 80lbs in 2008- the good old fashioned way. Diet and Exercise!!

Goal (Long):
In Dec 2007, when I started this process, I weighed 207lbs. Set little goals along the way. Now I want to my high school weight of 95lbs, but in a lean muscular frame. I was engaged to a bodybuilder/ personal trainer for over 3yrs. He was my life, but I just wasn't good enough. Since that I broke up with him, I'm doing this for me and feel so much better about it.
Do you tell your friends and/or family about your fitness goals?
Yes
Why or why not?
I want everyone to know why I am working so hard to get where I want to be. Plus, if friends/ family see me slipping- maybe they can put a boot to my butt to keep me in line.

What tips would you give to others to help them stay motivated over the long-term?
Make lots of mini-goals. You can't reach the top of the ladder with out climbing it first- one step at a time. But each step brings you closer to the top. Wow... I'm making amazing strides in so many aspects of my life. It seems I'm more focused on myself. At the gym, my "head is in the game". I am visualizing my goals and they are becoming reality. It's also a good chance for me to be alone, clear my head, and do some soul searching....

Here comes the fun. I'm 8 weeks out from my own personal goal of getting on the beach shirtless. I'm cutting all sugar and bread from my diet until June 1st. Hopefully i'll be down under 200 lbs and 10% bodyfat too. Really gonna be killing the abs. Tough task but i can do it. And you are right, this is a marathon, not a 40 yard dash.
Yeah sounds like you have a great plan! It helps me to precook foods as well. I just did some brown rice last night and chicken breasts a couple of days ago, which I still have a couple left ;-) Today I am going to cook up a supply of lentils and also some hard broiled eggs.
Oh cool! I just noticed you had Arnold's Encyclopedia too! I love that thing! I will admit I haven't finished it yet, but compared to my other readings I am doing pretty good with it. lol He is the bomb!
So hows everything going? Probably good huh? You seem to be doing great! What do you eat? I need to clean up my diet better. I am going to cook a surplus of food right now so I can just warm up some clean foods easily and don't have to cook all the time or try to grab something quick ya know.
