Long-term program based on the NutriBullet 6-week program: 2 "NutriBlasts" a day (fruits, vegs, greens, seeds, nuts) + Proper Food Combining
Through my 24 years of illness, severe food allergies have been a major struggle in my life, so now that I've been treated for my food allergies (and all my other allergies = environmental illness) I can eat fruits and vegetables [something I couldn't do for a long time - I used to have to live on meat, which I hated]. Now I can build up my body the best way possible - with whole foods! :)
We're going to use the NutriBullet 6-week program but extend it to long-term; then once I reach my goal I'll adjust the program into a life-long maintenance program.
Our program is: one to two Nutri "Blasts" a day and properly combined lunches and suppers. We're focusing on whole-grains: quinoa, oats, barley and lots of the healthy seeds (chia, sunflower, flax and hemp - but I've been warned hemp is kind of nasty:)). Most properly combined meals will contain a complex starch, but I intend to have salmon at least twice a week with non-starch veggies [my Mom isn't a big fan of fish, however;)].
We've tried traditional juicing, but it was so expensive (you get so little juice from the produce) and the clean-up mess each time is so discouraging to doing it the next time, that we're thrilled to have found a way to benefit from the whole foods, fiber included [throwing away all that carrot pulp was painful]. :)
One thing that is great about having "Blast" shakes (fruits, veggies, greens and nuts) instead of just a salad is: 1. you don't miss out on nutrition because you didn't chew well and 2. NO SALAD DRESSING = no fat for that "meal". :)
