In high school I played sports - soccer and basketball. During my senior year I was seeing a guy who was really fit and I joined his gym so we could workout together. I never stopped working out and I married the guy! A few years later, while home in bed sick, I saw a fitness competition on television and that is when I fell in love with bodybuilding.
Why I Love It:
I love feeling strong. I love being healthy. I love being challenged. I love looking and feeling amazing!
How I Stay Motivated:
I've watched so many loved ones struggle with their weight and health issues. I want to set the best example that I can for my children and live life to the fullest!
BB Accomplishments:
Competing in the 2003 NPC Vancouver Classic was a huge accomplishment! Non-bodybuilding accomplishments include running the Hood to Coast relay three times in the past 5 years, I ran my first ever Half-Marathon in July 2007 and over the years have regularly participated in fun runs.
What type of nutrition plan are you currently following? Give full details.
I am a lacto-ovo vegetarian...I eat dairy and eggs. I try to eat at least 20-25 grams of protein at each meal. I eat pretty healthy. I try to limit my carbs in the PM which doesn't always happen.
Finished my second ever half-marathon on Friday, July 4th. Was pleased with the results though I was really hoping to finish in under two hours. Imagine...26 seconds over. It was a great run and I feel good. No complaints post...
I've got a few running goals for the year so I'm really focused on that. My first "race" will by on Sunday, March 16th. I'm running a 15K (9.3 miles). I also plan to run a half-marathon on July 4th and hopefully, a full marathon on October 5th.
Right now, I'm running 3-4 times during...
It has been such a rewarding experience discovering/understanding the relationship between diseases and not only our nutrition but the absorption (or shall I say.....the lack of absorption) of our nutrients and/or the improper digestion of food.......very interesting. My program is offered distance ed. Check out the website: csnn.ca Maybe they have a US equivalent. It's a fantastic program. Good luck!
well the goals are coming slow right now. just can't eat all i need to with the way work is going, and I have tryed to take some meal replacement bars/shakes to work but I get to busy and forget them alot... How are your going
I have a cold/bug/thingy too. Thought I felt good enough yesterday so I hit the legs. Woke up this morning with a fever. Ugh. Oh well. Get better soon. Spring is almost here!
I'm just floored by the cost of pasturized whites. I can't remember the price, but I just refuse to buy them. Ok, I did this week to try making meringue cookies, but that was a big BOMB! My husband gets so mad at me for throwing all those yolks down the drain. I used 56 eggs yesterday to make a bunch of my pumpkin pancakes. I think the folks in the grocery store must think I'm nuts when I go thru the checkout.
We keep getting teased with the snow. It was pretty cool when we got some on Xmas. It didn't last but long enough to get a couple photos. Now, I think we could do without the tornados! How strange was that?!
Hi,
I love the stepper or in my gym now there is a new version of it that is even crazier and more intense. I do it 3 times a week for 15 mins.
I do interval setting and make sure to pick the hardest one of the options. It usually gets my heartbeat racing...I have always liked anaerobic cardio.
