When I Started:
Jan, 2009
How I Started:
You know how sometimes people you know are lifting weights all the time and before you know it they become ginormous beasts with outlandish strength? Yeah, my brother, I watched him incline barbell press 365lbs six times on his fourth set a fews days ago.....just stupid!!!
Why I Love It:
I love body building because of how your body changes right before your eyes. I know you thought this thought when you first started lifting..."man, if my arms would be as big all the time as they are when they're pumped I would be huge." But then they do get that big and then you say..."man, if my arms would be as big all the time as they are when they're pumped I would be huge." You get what I am sayin'.
How I Stay Motivated:
I have a lot of work to do!!!

Desires to glorify God through all he does and quite apparently lives out what he preaches. He recieved God's healing touch and a snare was lifted from his life to the glory of God through Jesus Christ. Now look he is doing something with the gift he has been given. Living the way God intended, with passion and commitement and always his praises to God. Keep up the great work brother.

What bicep workout has worked best for you?
I don't know if it is the work out that helped my bicep grow as much as it is the frequency in wich I do the workout(every other day one week then only on pull days the next week) but here it is:
BB curl: (body bent forward, arms in front not posted to body use heavy weight and slightly narrower grip 3 sets)
EZ curl: (same form as above, narrow grip, have additional ez bar set up with light weight and rep it out to fatigue with each set with wide grip 3 sets w/drop)
Cross body hammer curls: 3 sets heavy weight
Concentration curls: 3 sets to fatigue medium weight
I am considering adding an additional set when I do as a solo workout but with lats or back I will stay with this for now.

Thanks for the great comments J. Yeah, cut is continuing, but now is the time where the men are separated from the boys. At least, its starting to get harder, but with some adjustments I think I can continue. Target is 190lbs by end of December.
it's funny you mentioned him man... there is local guy i have trained with he looks like brocks younger brother. face and body.. thanks man you look like you doing big thins in the gym too man
Oh yeah, my poundages have also begun to slip too. Very hard to maintain them as my friend told me your biochemistry is different during a cut. But the idea is to give your body a big reason why to keep the muscle. Yeah, PR will be far and few between. But, the results will be awesome. Even seeing veins already on my front delts. Friend did also say that once a bulk resumes your body is much more efficient and most of the gains will be muscle. Plus thats the time to attack the weights.
But for my workouts, I am shooting for a standard hypertrophic workout and do 4 sets per exercise with 8-12 reps per set. I actually start low poundage wise and pyramid. Injuries were a big issue with previous failed cuts, so this helps warm me up. By the 3rd or 4th set, I will be trying to push the max weight and take those two sets to failure. I also am very stringent about the 36 set total limit, although fudge it on legs a little.
Hey J, Well, you've been making some great progress so far, I can really see the difference. And to stay with it so long, very proud to see that. My diet is pretty simple really, I'm just shooting for achieving a caloric deficit with a nutrient split of 45-50%carbs, 30-35% protein and 15%fat. I just started out slow and have been building as I go. I haven't done much traditional cardio, but am quite active for work.
Thanks man for the comments. Yeah, progress and work to do. But enjoying the cut and seeing the progress. Just started to see the veins over my front delts starting to poke through on their own without flexing. Pretty cool! So how are things with you? -T
Hey Justin,
Nice progress pics. You've definitely leaned up nicely without losing much muscle mass. I will say again though, you have some serious potential I see. Potential to turn yourself into a fully ripped, and hulking huge muscle monster if you so desire. And remember, the only person holding you back from this, is yourself. I look forward to continuing to cheer you on and then seeing you in that ultimate form. Lift big and strong dude! -T
Thanks man. It means alot. I am continually amazed what God has allowed me to accomplish in terms of size and strength and excited to know He's not done with me yet. Thanks also on the idea of a cheat meal. I do actually have planned 1-2 cheat meals per week, usually on the weekend so I can go out with my friends and not feel guilty. Look forward to seeing those pics! -T
hey Justin, Thought I'd stop in and say a big hello. How are you doing? Myself, my cut is going good. Lost a pound of probably mostly fat over last week, but will have to see what I lost this week. The awesome part is my strength is either level or going up and it seems my muscles have never been bigger and fuller. So feeling like a monster, I guess. LOL! -T
hey can you help bye giving me some sound advice how would i get my basic muscles up to the best standard and also wht are the best methods for doing such a thing ????
Hey BIG J, tnx 4 the comments, buddy. stay focused pack on the lean muscle and peel out those abs, get it down to 10% and let's see those chiseled muscles. Build the temple mighty and ready. Enjoy the weekend, Peace, Rich
Hey Justin, gr8 site, man. keep at it, pack on the lean mass and grow HUGE while maintaining that 10% BF. show us how it's done, stay pumped and givin glory all the time. Built that mighty TEMPLE, Peace, Rich
