After being a recovering anorexic I started to weight train as soon as I read my first copy of Muscle & Fitness and I saw pictures of Arnold Schwarzenegger, Lee Labrada, and Lee Haney.
Why I Love It:
I love the discipline involved and the fact that you get what you put into it. Bodybuilding can teach you a lot about life. If you apply what you learn through bodybuilding (goal setting/planning, visualization, determination, and hard work) onto every other aspect of your life success then is inevitable.
How I Stay Motivated:
I just never want to be overweight like I once was when I was little so it is easy for me to stay motivated.
Besides, it has taken me years to build my physique to this level so I don’t want to ruin it. I also feel that since I am a role model to many, and I am constantly offering advice on what needs to be done in order to get in shape, I’d feel very hypocritical if I am prescribing something that I do not even follow myself.

Again this is the 2005 All South. Sacrificed definition for size.
This picture was taken at the 2007 USAs. Though 24 lbs less than 2005, the muscle quality and hardness was way superior. Glutes and hamstrings were more defined than ever.
many mid workout supplements are coming out, waxymaize, maltodextrin, dex trose all trying to mimic sugar. i was thinking add creatine, glutamine, bcaa;s and some whey 20grams and chug a gatorade or just add good old sugar? whats your thoughts on this?
Sorry i havent gotten back to you yet bout that my meal plan. coast guard has been crazy and i got sick all at the same time. i will get it to you this week. thanks again
Thanks for replying. Its been hard eating all that food but I have been slowly wheening toward more solids versus supplementation. I have another question, healthy fats, in your column you usually take more in the evening, i was wondering should it take a little more before or after my strength training. i have been taking 14 grams immedaitely after the workout. whats your thoughts on this?

I problem is thats alot of food for me so i have started off with alot of shakes in order to reach those numbers, is that good or should i go mores toward whole foods. thanks for avi
Hi, I read your article on your experience with the Anabolic Diet. I was wondering if you kept the carbs low for the first 12 days or if you carbed up after the first 5 days. And if you did wait 12 days, are those 12 days included in the 30 days that you achieved your amazing results with?
......sorry for the long question haha.
Thanks,
