How I Started:
2 reasons: (1st) I was always the skinny kid. I played football in high school but my size was always the issue. I weighed 120 when I graduated high school. (2nd) I was in an auto accident in 1987 and herniated a disk in my lumbar region of my back. I was told if I do not workout I will probably end up needing surgery. I have been working out ever since.
Why I Love It:
I love the feel of completing a work out. I love the way the body reacts to a good muscle pump. I have gained plenty of muscle since 1985. I now way 190, but unfortunately I probably have about 15-20 pounds of fat that I need to shed. Working out enables me to keep up with my children. They play many sports and working out enables the fitness to keep up.
How I Stay Motivated:
That is where my challenge is at right now. I have not worked out seriously in the past four years. My back is feeling it and reminding me I need to kick it in gear. One of my motivations right now is to keep my back strong. Probably my most important and main reason that I am motivated at this time is because of my twelve year old son. He just started snowboarding and he really wants me to hit the slopes with him. I NEED TO GET INTO SHAPE!!.

Goal (Long):
I want to change my eating habits and no longer crave to have fast food. I want to cut out my sodas and energy drinks. I am tired of wearing the big sweatshirts to hide my fat. I want my wife to look at me and see an athletic looking man instead of a couch potato. I am putting my mind to it to accomplish this goal by end of summer.
Felt a twinge in my back on Thursday. I took the weekend off from working out and rested my back. Today felt OK, pain is still there, mild but none the less still there. I will probably take the rest of the week off to make sure back is OK.
i understand ur fit status...and really understand ur pic comment "o well" but u r doing so good! this is when u need a stranger to tell u...U CAN do this...when u seem tired or something is difficult reach deep & say "this to shall pass" :) hav a great, clean eating day! :) av
I hear ya on the drinking of more water, I'm still not up to the suggested 1 gal. a day, it's difficult, but the body adjusts to it and it helps to shed fat as well. Best of luck in your goals!

congrats on being done with ur sodas..that sounds weird typing that..up here we call it pop..lol..but that is a HUGE step..did u have bad headaches ur first few days after stopping..i always did when i would stop..so now i dont ever want to go back to drinking it again!!
