Been off and on a while now. My first major step was subscribing to Oxygen Magazine. Then, buying and reading both of Tosca Reno's books.
Why I Love It:
It makes me feel amazing, strong, and powerful. Although being a girl is great, being a strong girl rocks!
How I Stay Motivated:
A few ways (naturally they don't always work- no one's perfect after all!): *loading up plenty of music on my trusty ipod *reminding myself that my birthday will be coming around sooner than I think *reminding myself that summer (that's when my birthday is) will be coming around sooner than I think *lusting after the bathing suits in the Victoria's Secret catalog (for summer and my birthday)
BB Accomplishments:
Being able to get into the gym after suffering major back pain. Go me! And, getting back on the bike after I really couldn't ride at all. Go me, again!!

Goal (Long):
It's hard to pick just one goal...Although I do want to lose weight, I also want to gain muscle. But, beyond that I would really love to live a healthier lifestyle- and hopefully all of the perks will follow. I just want my outside to reflect my inside. I don't need or want to be a stick-thin model, but I would love to not have to think twice about my appearance, and just live the moment. I want to be able to see how far my body will go, especially because I know of where it's been. I hurt my back and have been afraid to do much since then. I am getting rid of that crutch now, and hope to just go for it. My ultimate goal: lose 32 lbs. for my birthday in June.

What tips would you give to others to help them stay motivated over the long-term?
Make lots of mini goals and then reward yourself when you get there. Something like I'm going to workout 5 days a week for a month. When you do it, get yourself a pedicure!

Workout Program:
For now it's mostly cardio (treadmill and bike)and ABS. When it's not raining, I love to hit the pool!
Since I had a major back injury (that flares up now and then), I have been advised to hold off on heavy lifting for now.
Soon, I will incorporate some boxing into all of this! Finally!!!...

Hi- In 2/2008 you left me a comment. I'm sorry I didn't know of it. Thanks for contacting me. I'm getting ready for my 2nd total hip replacementin 03/09. Then I'll have a full set of fake hips :-) I'm still in decent shape, except I packed on about 10# I'll get back down to 235# in time for the operation. I'm eating too much and working out is tough with the right hip nagging me. The replaced left hip is happy. :-) Take it easy. Hope all is well with you and yours. The Roman

hey chicka :) nice to hear from ya ! We don't have that machine at the gym. The closest is he stairclimber (not the stairmaster where u just go up and down). I love the stairmaster.... i do some good HIIT sessions on it.. 30 min total, 5 warm-up 20 min alternating 2 min level 8/1 min level 4 or 5.... it ROCKS !!! keep in touch girl :)
