Background
I was always active as a teen playing team sports thoughout high school and even co-ed sports into my 20's. I started to read magazines such as Oxygen and Muscle and Fitness when I was about 19 years old and really had a desire to start working out. I would take advantage of the campus gym that the university I attended provided, and when I graduated I joined a gym. I enjoyed working out, was in decent shape, never ate well though. I enjoyed partying too much. I got married at 23, at 25 I found out I was pregnant with my first child , and my mother who had been suffering with a rare form of cancer went into the hospital for the last time. She past away when I was 10 weeks pregnant. When she passed I also became my 18 year old sister's guardian (whom suffers from a tramatic brain injury from an ATV accident). I put on a whooping 100lbs, (120-219lbs)I have no idea why either stress, or just not paying attention and caring anymore. I managed to get most but not all of the weight off by being busyand not eating much, during the following year after having my son, and decided to have another baby 2 years after my first pregnancy. Once again I gained a lot of weight, putting on 80 pounds, which is what I am still stuggling with today 19 months later. I was 197 on June 12 2010 a week after having my second son. I started a year ago to go to the gym, but then I found that I was not having enough time in the day to keep up with two babies and my sister's schedule of doctor appointments and needs. So I put off the gym until Januarary 1st 2012 when I had had enough. I'm sick of buttoning my jeans and having my fat ooze out top, its disgusting. My stomach is grossly stretched out, and I'm not going under the knife, so I better do something. I am familar with bodybuilding.com as I go on it occationally but when I saw the transformation challenge I had to do it for it was a win/win. So my husband and I signed up. We began eating clean, working out regularly and haven't looked back! This is a transformation for life. I feel great!! As an extra bonus.....I have also been a sufferer of migraine and stress headaches for almost 20 years now, and since working out and changing my diet I have not had a problem!
It makes me feel great and gives me self confidence. Gives me the energy that I need to get me though the day to keep up with the demanding schedule of being a mom, wife, and caretaker...chef, maid, accountant, etc... lol!
