How I Started:
Although I didn't really start lifting weights seriously until about 9 years ago, I have always been active and athletic. I competed in gymnastics until I was 17. After leaving gymnastics due to serious injury, I decided to find a new sport to pursue! I wanted to compete in fitness competitions, but then the new division of "Figure" was created! So I decided to give NPC figure competitions a shot...and here I am today!
Why I Love It:
I love the challenge of setting goals for myself! Although I don't always feel like going to the gym, I ALWAYS feel better when I am done with my workout!
How I Stay Motivated:
I like reading Oxygen, Muscle & Fitness Hers, Fitness Rx, and just about any other fitness magazine!!! The stories that I find in those magazines are so inspirational because I realize that there are so many people out there who have such difficult obstacles to overcome in life...and yet they still make a commitment to live a healthy life! When I see that, it inspires me to get to the gym or to pass up on that piece of pizza or piece of chocolate. LOL ;) Exercise and working out also helps me keep balance in my life. With all of the demands from my job and law school, I would go crazy without my workouts!!

Well...I've been a member of bodyspace for a while now, but this is my first blog, believe it or not! So here goes a quick update on what is coming up for me :)
First off, I am planning to step back out onto the national figure competition stage in May for the Jr. USAs. I am very excited...
