8-12. It's the range that ultimately in my opinion allows for muscle growth and strength.

How long do you rest between sets on average? Why?
Depends. If I'm supersetting which I do 75% of the time, I take 1-2 minutes of rest, or at least long enough so that I am ready to lift again. If I'm not supersetting I try to take as little break as possible, just enough to catch my breath, like 20-30 seconds. The reason is I don't want my muscles to become fatigued while working out, and by keeping a constant flow of blood through my muscles it delays the lactic acid.Depends.
