When I Started:
Feb, 2008
How I Started:
I got started in sports in middle and high school, but never really took it to serious, just did what I had to do to stay on whatever team I was on at the time. In February I arrived in Afghanistan and started lifting, but my technique was bad and I was overtraining a lot (Full Body workouts 4-5 times a week). I found out about bodybuilding.com in may (2008), figured out what I was doing wrong and it has been on ever since. I had been smoking for a few years and I finally started to see the bad effects kicking in, running slowed down, I started to get that wonderfull smokers cough, and all the other wonderfull things that come with smoking. Long story short I kicked the habit and have started lifting faithfully. I have also started to eat as clean as possible (I say possible because out here what they cook is all we have to eat, so if they only cook pizza and cheeseburgers, I'm kinda stuck with that). Luckily my metabolism stays pretty high, so I dont have to worry about gettin fat, I'm just anxious to get back and see how much more I can gain while I'm eating the right foods all the time.
Why I Love It:
I have been addicted to a lot of things in my life, but this is the best addiction I have ever had. I sit in the office all day, bored out of my mind just waiting to go to the gym (granted I do get to read a lot of bb.com articles and forum posts).
How I Stay Motivated:
Looking at that picture from september and wondering how I managed to post that on a public website and be proud of it. haha! Motivation comes pretty easy and recently I've been getting those "How am I bigger than him but he's lifting more than I am" looks in the gym, those always help. Also recently I've been getting asked for a lot of tips in the gym (form, workout programs, diet etc...) and I enjoy helping people out especially in the gym so that keeps me motivated. what else... Oh, I have 2 guys that come to the gym with me, both of them completely dropped their mass gain routines just to do my program, that was pretty cool. How could I not mention all the haters, shout out to yall, yall keep me going every day, send your hate mail to ripped2shredz@bodybuilders.com And most of all my wife Haley (yay4haley). She is the best motivation I have, in all aspects of life not just bodybuilding, and I can't wait to get back to the states and hit the gym with her.
BB Accomplishments:
1) I QUIT SMOKING!!!

Goal (Long):
I want to gain mass. Before I was really only strenth training so that I could stay in my weight class while boxing. Now I do not box as much and I would rather gain mass. I am deployed in Afghanistan, so the gym is the only thing I have to keep myself busy. I have about 12 months left here, so I am going to train as much as possible and see were I am at the end of this 15 month tour.
Weight Goal:
I want to GAIN 40 lb
Bodyfat Goal:
6%

Awesome bro, getting outta the military and starting over is never easy...especially when you have a wife that depends on you. It sucks going from being a warrior and being secure to starting over as a civilian. If you need any advice, lemme know. And get your ass back in the gym pussy!! Taking that little time off is gonna turn into a year...trust me I know.
Yo whaddup bro? You back from kicking some ass huh? I saw that you said you've been addicted to alot of things in life...me too brother. Drugs almost killed me years ago. I was as bad as they come. And yes, bodybuilding is the best thing that ever happened to me. Hit me back man. Haven't heard from you in awhile.
haha..well all those free meals from family and friends sounds like a good deal to me ;) The bodyweight workouts are a good way to maintain what you have, so if you stick to basic exercises and a balanced diet with just a few sups I'll sure you'll reach your new goals :)
That's good buddy i am just chillin tryna find music on myspace and just chatting with my bro on facebook haha, dat good you out the army now you can go make something of ya self but **** still looking mad cut ma boi now put that mass on since you back home
