After training to hike Machu Pichu in the fall of '08 I put on 10lbs of fat during the winter. I was still going to the gym but only working half-assed on cardio. I picked up an edition of Muscle mag to read on the elliptical, which had an article on how to loose 10lbs in 4 weeks and decided to test the article. It worked, I dropped the fat and gained muscle.
Why I Love It:
I've got multiple long term joint and back injuries that plague me on a daily basis. Lifting and working out carefully helps alleviate these to a great degree and allows me to lead a relatively normal life (I do have setbacks in my workout routine when something gets tweaked)
How I Stay Motivated:
My motivation comes two places - how I feel and how I look. I love having the freedom to be more active and free from daily injury pain (relatively) by staying in good health which allows me to pursue my main hobby of racing cars. I get energized when I can put in a whole race and not be exhausted afterwords while I see others that are.
BB Accomplishments:
Dropping 10lbs of fat in 4 weeks while putting on a couple of pounds of muscle. I've got a lean type of body so building muscle has always been very difficult therefor any muscle I can put on, and keep on, is an accomplishment for me.

And it's happened again...that pesky disk in my back has sidelined me for the last 2 1/2 weeks from being in the gym. I'm trying hard to make sure I'm, at the very least, walk everyday. In fact I finally made it onto the stair machine for 40 minutes of cardio yesterday and while by back is...
