Background

When I Started: May 2008
HOW I STARTED:

First off, I was never an athlete in my youth. I always thought I was fat. I had self image issues for sure. I was a brain and brainy people were not fit or athletic, right? Wrong. I first started lifting in my twenties. I found my body responded well. I liked that it was a sport I could do on my own. Put in the work and reap the rewards. Fast track to my Forties, three kids later and 40 pounds overweight. I hated how I looked and felt. Life had sidelined me and I had forgot about taking care of myself. I started tracking my diet and changed what I ate. I started walking. I got up to 3 15 min walks a day. Then, added weight lifting. I went from 168 pounds to 119, from a size 12 to a size 3. Can't stop now!

WHY I LOVE IT:

I am 47 years old and have never felt and looked better! I love looking good and having tons of energy. I love helping others to see that anything is possible if you set your mind to it. So much in life is truly mental, start seeing yourself as you want to be and the rest will fall into place.

Stopped by GNC today, one of the guys there was at my gym on Sunday when I was doing MET training which composed of various exercises performed nonstop for a total of 500 repititions. I did it in 20 minutes. He said I train hard and that not too many people do:) WooHoo! Yeah Baby!

I love my car! I have a Chrysler 300C with a hemi motor. When I want to pass someone, the get up and go in that baby is awesome! It flies by people and is so smooth. Of course, I got my one and only speeding ticket in this car. LOL What is awesome too is when your training converts into meaningful and useful power outside of the gym.
