I started to do weight training when I was about 22 years old. I only started to gym to keep myself in good shape and to tone my body. I never thought of myself as a bodybuilder or competing in shows.
I started to gym with friends that were into bodybuilding and they taught me the basic principles of bodybuilding. They taught me how to feel the muscle work and not just to move the weight. They also taught me the fundamental rep schemes and workout variations such as training splits. Not only did they learn me about training, but they also learned me about past mistakes that they made. They taught me how to avoid injury in the gym, proper nutrition and about the tremendous sacrifices one has to accept to make it to the top in this sport.
I started doing competitions when my friends really started to encourage me to do so. They could see the tremendous changes and the effects of the weight training and how positive my body responded to it.
Why I Love It:
I believe that bodybuilding taught me discipline. Bodybuilding is a lifestyle on its own and if you want to become a successful bodybuilder you must stick to this lifestyle. Bodybuilding does not rule my life, but a will always eat healthy and look after myself. I don’t drink or smoke. It is always important to remember that what you put into life, you will get out of it.
How I Stay Motivated:
I believe in hard work. No pain, no gain. I truly believe in the saying that bodybuilding is a lifestyle. Stay focused on the task at hand. You can only fail yourself if you don’t stick it out.

Goal (Long):
My long term goal is to win the IFBB Overall South African title. This is the one title that has evaded me and I would like to claim it for myself. I would also like to increase my overall size and to fill out my back and lats more over the next year. I would also like to do some overseas shows. My biggest dream is to become a pro, but this will stay a long term goal until I get a lucky break somewhere.

Hey bro! Sorry i'm way behind on responding! You brought one helluva package to the stage. You should be proud and screw the haters, no matter how mad you get the decision is in the books. My opinion, you nailed it! Glad i wasn't up there with you!

Evening Heinrich...I assume you are competing in Italy? If so I hope you place well! If not, enjoy watching the show, and in either case..take advantage of some authentic Italian cuisine! OOH! I'm Jealous! Invite me next time ;) ~Missy
Heinrich, I really am new to bodybuilding so I don't know what a perfect physique is or how they judge contestants. I do know this...you are something amazingly fierce. I know that everyone must stare at you where ever you go! :) ~Missy
of course, I'll be wishing you all the best on your prep and competition! I am so glad to hear from you now, and am sorry you had trouble. I don't think you were the only one - I got a very out of character comment from a friend, and I commented back that it didn't even sound like them! Unfortunately, the friend really did write it. I'm glad you got that resolved.
Hi Heinrich! Thank you for the kind words - I am Silk Spectre II from Watchmen :) so nice of you to drop by, how are you doing? When is your next show?

Hey whatsup thanks for the add. Congratulations on the win at the South African championships. Have you had any experience using kettle bells i have a pic of my current one on my blog. Reason I'm asking is this and my bowflex and some dumbbells 2pounds-25pounds is all i have to workout with now. Gained some size so far taking a weight gainer and working out with kettle bells sticking too compound movements.Anyways if you have any advice send me a message.
