How I Started:
I had struggled with an eating disorder for 14 years. I had relapsed again, was at a really low weight, and knew I couldn't continue the way I was going. I reluctantly picked up a set of dumbells for the first time, then quickly became hooked. I'm up 20 lbs and actually have a better body image than I ever have.
Why I Love It:
Huge improvement in self-esteem and much less rigid with food intake.

Moving up from skinny to fit---and I've gained 20 lbs in the process. Most importantly, I'm actually okay with that :).
When I was really sick with anorexia. I weighed about 80 lbs in all the "before" pictures that are in my profile. My lowest weight was 67 lbs as a teenager, I don't have any pictures from that time, but I was even more emaciated than what is in these pictures. Frightening!
I've tried keeping both a blog and journal here, but it hasn't really worked out. I'm just not good at keeping them updated. But I wanted to have at least one entry giving a bit of background as to where I've been and how it fits into where I am now.
