When I Started:
Jun, 2007
How I Started:
I had struggled with an eating disorder for 14 years. I had relapsed again, was at a really low weight, and knew I couldn't continue the way I was going. I reluctantly picked up a set of dumbells for the first time, then quickly became hooked. I'm up 20 lbs and actually have a better body image than I ever have.
Why I Love It:
Huge improvement in self-esteem and much less rigid with food intake.

Moving up from skinny to fit---and I've gained 20 lbs in the process. Most importantly, I'm actually okay with that :).
Weight this morning was 98.8 and body fat was 19.2%, all measured on home scale. The body fat part of my scale fluctuates quite a bit from day-to-day so I'm not sure how good it is for even measuring progress. But the weight part seems pretty consistent.
hello, i've paid you a compliment before.. and I've always meant it but your progress continues to impress me.. You look great and that smile is just awesome.. I'm sure your family will agree.. Keep up the focus and energy you continue to inspire others.
another abs shot surprise ;) i just wanted to peak in.
i could NOT believe your pics, how skinny you were! you look like you could be in the national geographic out of ethiopia.
you look so much healthier now and look fab! you put on a nice amount of muscle and still lean.
keep it up and inspire!!
you are welcome. I meant every word. Being a role model for your girl is the BEST thing that you'll ever do on this earth, but its great that you'll be able to share with others who have experienced this. I work in fashion ans with young girls and cannot begin to tell you the things i see on a daily basis(negative body images, disorders, drugs, etc)
its really remarkable what you have done, you not only looked good you SAVED your own life. You should really work or volunteer at a clinic. You have the power to actually save a young girl from this serious disease, even death. Wow, really impressed with you.
