When I Started:
Jul, 2007
How I Started:
Well, at first it was a more casual affair. I started out with a few pieces of equipment e.g. Smith machine, and then only after 5 or 6 months did i get a free bench. Now, I have all the equipment necessary: free bench, incline seat, dumbbells, barbell, tread-mill very soon as opposed to an x-trainer, preacher curl, and a leg press/hack squat machine.
Why I Love It:
Want to get bigger, stronger, faster, and fitter before I got off to University in September 2009.
How I Stay Motivated:
Imagination
BB Accomplishments:
Gaining 2 stone in a few months, and going from 9 stone to 12 stone 4 now in a year and a half - I'm now fitter, stronger and healthier. The next accomplishment is to be benching 80kg by the end of the summer, and curling 12-15 reps on 40kg and 6-8 reps on 43-45kg.
Forum Signature:
Supplementing training with IBD 42 Protein, Weider protein bars, Super Cissus RX, and Cod liver oil.
Aims by Christmas 2008 (with perfect form):
Flat BB Bench press: 75 x 8, 80kg x 3
Seated Dumbbell curl: 20kg x 6-10
Shoulder press: 56kg x 10-12, 60kg x 6-10
Tricep CGBP: 55kg x 12
CV fitness: 30-40 minutes straight on x-trainer/Treadmill on high resistance, and jogging more at school etc to lower bf%.
you mean in your joints? oh yeah all the time. clicking always bugs me more than cracking, since i crack my joints all the time, but if you're feeling like its something that is starting to make a joint unstable, i'd have it checked out or stop doing that particular exercise.
my bench is kinda pathetic actually, i don't know what my max is, but the other day i benched 155 ten times. the bench is definitely one thing I gotta work on
To be honest, I don't really do curls very often. I attribute my arm growth to heavy compounds and back work. When I do curl, I can usually curl 45 lb dbs for 10 clean reps. Skullcrushers I can do 90 on an ez bar for 10 reps, nothin special. I can bench about 200 for 10 reps with no pause, and 185 x 10 stop and go. I've been lifting for a little over a year, but had to take a few months off due to knee injuries and a broken wrist.
You do not need to be an US Citizen to join the USMC. but you may need to have a Green card or something. I know a Liberian Plattonmate of mine was in the Liberian Army and joined the USMC. Once you join the service they can help you gain citizenship.
I was in 1/8 A Co WPNS PLT back then.
