When I Started:
Aug, 2006
How I Started:
Early 2006 I weighed about 210 lbs and was extremely unhappy. Luckily my friend bugged me to go to a boxing class and when i finally did, it was the beginning of something special.
Why I Love It:
People ask why I push myself physically. I say, "If you have to ask, you will never understand". It is something only those select few know. Those who put themselves through pain, but know, deep down, how good it really feels.
"Even if I fail again and again to accomplish my purpose -- as I must until weakness is overcome -- the strength of character gained will be the measure of my true success, and this will form a new starting point for future power and triumph."
How I Stay Motivated:
2 things:
1. I see people walking around who clearly have no ambition or drive and I completely see the person I used to be. Never again!
2. Being seen as a person that people can come to for advice is challenging. I love helping people feel what I feel through my actions and words - pure and simple.
BB Accomplishments:
4 hour bike challenge for charity. Came out the other side cramped and sore but I came out the other side and that's the important part.

Mass, mass, mass!

“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of...
Hey Matt, had to take a two week break, my knee was screaming to death, so rather do what the doctor tell me to do (and since she knows me I know she ask the minimum) Tomorrow I will do some stationary bike, and some light weights to keep, next week we will see.
Hey just wanted to touch base here, back in training full swing now. God will starting this week the preparation for the half marathon of the Reto Powerade in St. de Belen. Keep in touch, keep training smart.
yeh not bad thanks man, the zinc thing i dunno bout but i am seeming to be goin ok, how bout urself?? i have set a few goals and stuff and hoping to obtain them soon.
You already started by taking short runs. Some people think in terms of a 5 plan: walk 5 minutes, run 5 minutes, and so on. Remember that when running in order to do it right you run at a speed that you can keep normal conversation, faster than that, your running workout will not help you build air.
In a way yes, it is complicated, and I should focus more on what I can do rather than what is out of my reach. At this point I'm about to ask my Sensei to postpone the belt examination, and already talked with a car rental, the fact is I'm going to run this weekend.
Hey there...I am doing ok...just trying to jump start my weight loss program..I've managed to gain every lb lost in these last few months but I still refuse to completely give up...Hope all is well on your end...
I really dont know. I havent gotten a max in about 3 months. I am on a new workout program that involves all bodyweight so my max will probably go down a bit
Thank you for the visit and kind words Matt. Yup, by March I hope to be ready for the Sol y Arena run in Puntarenas, 10 km run on the beach, quite hard I must say. Keep training and remember to focus!
haha i wish no changes here still man. thinkin maybe its a zinc deficiancy. but anyway, hoping something will change or grow one day soon...i wish to lift heavy, still cant tho, dunno y. u seem to b doin excellent urself tho!
