How I Started:
I was always into sports and athletics when I was younger. I started playing hockey when I was 8. As I got older I got more and more into health and fitness. I am a Certified Athletic Trainer so I am around active people all the time. As an Athletic Trainer we don't train athletes, which is a big misconception. That is a personal trainer. Athletic Trainer's are in the sports medicine field, where we prevent injuries, do evaluations and diagnose injuries, rehab injuries and recondition athletes. I love what I do and wouldn't change it for the world. On top of being an ATC, I am about to sit for my CSCS in the next month or so. I am also into the strength and conditioning of athletes. I always felt hypertrophy of a muscle is only aspect of an athlete. You need to have power, muscular endurance, agility and speed. :-)
