Rachel McLish has always been my idol (now I'm aging myself...lol) Ever since I saw her on the cover of Muscle & Fitness Magazine I've been interested in bodybuilding. I never really got into it until I met my last husband 12 years ago at the gym and he taught me everything I know... "Train hard and pain is your friend" R.I.P. Samuel Forrest
Over the years I have never had any goals, just go to the gym, lift weights and try to stay in shape. Never really ate proper or took supplements when I was supposed to.
Well it's time for me to finally achieve my goals and get serious. I started the Body For Life Challenge in April and I want to transform my body from just an average fit body to a hard rock, kick ass body.
Why I Love It:
It keeps me strong and healthy and I feel great after.
How I Stay Motivated:
All of my friends on BB.com keep me motivated and I love to help others achieve their goals too.

Here are my final progress pics for Body For Life
Okay so here's the rear. This is where all the work has to be done. OMG I have no calves or hams and look at all that fat on my legs. I think all my bodyfat is right here! Only 12 weeks left.
I'm entering my 1st contest as a figure competitor in the Natural Diamond Classic, Wichita, KS, November 15th, 2008...11 weeks and 2 days!!!
Goal (Long):
I'm entering my 1st contest as a figure competitor in the Natural Diamond Classic, Wichita, KS, November 14th, 2008. Studying for my ACE Personal Trainer Certification.
What type of injury was it? How long were you injured? How did you recover?
Pulled my hamstring about 2 1/2 years ago. I was stretching between sets and I actually heard it pop. I couldn't walk for weeks because my leg wouldn't extend forward. It took months for it to heal and actually stopped doing legs after that. I just started doing a regular leg workouts 5 weeks ago (mostly due to laziness!) I did do leg extensions (most machine exercises but no squats)Pulled my hamstring about 2 1/2 years ago. I was stretching between sets and I actually heard it pop. What is the most common reason that somebody gets injured while lifting?
Not warming up properly and not doing the exercise properly.
I trained with my trainer last night. He finally gave me my workout. He says I’m working out way too much and not resting enough. I was going 5-6 times a week of weight training and cardio in the morning. I was physically exhausted and ready to give up. So he said 3 times a week...
Aw thanks girl! That is really awesome! I tried to do another video journal, but don't really feel confident and just weird talking to a camera...lol. I should get my sis to interview me or something.
Thanks for the add! Good luck in your first competition. I just started Body for Life and hope to do my first competition next year :) Glad you found me. You look great!

I train abs with each workout, but I try to devote a day to abs at least once per week. It started when I would be at the gym and EVERYTHING else was sore.
Yeah, that was me. And come to think of it, I remember seeing you up there - though it never "clicked" until now that you mentioned it. Always feel free to chat w/ me if you get a chance.
