When I Started:
Aug, 2006
How I Started:
I started working out about Nov. of 2006 after I lost 20lbs. I want to continue loosing weight and also want to be toned and defined.
Why I Love It:
I look better than I have since I started having children. That was about 16 years ago. I was always tired and avoided physical activity as much as possible. I am still on a journey and learning as I go. I want to continue to do more with body building. I want to have some muscle definition and to be tight and toned. Most of all I think it'd be cool to have a 6-pack like my 12 year old daughter who is in gymnastics. I had to kill some time the past couple of days and I walked/jogged 10 miles yesterday and 8 miles today. I am still amazed that it is me doing this. I normally do about 4 miles a day and half of it is jogging.
How I Stay Motivated:
I don't always. But when I get to a tough spot I hang in there till I find the determination to go on. I worked so hard to loose 40lbs. since Aug. and refuse to go back up in weight again. People are starting to notice and comment on my weight loss. Last night a friend called me "slim"! How great that felt! And of course there's always shopping! Love buying smaller jeans. My friends on this site have gone a long way to keep me on track or get me back on track. And looking at all the people who are disciplined and have the bodies to show for it. Life is hard - either I'm out of shape and miserable, or I'm working my butt off but reaping the rewards for doing so. Figure it's better to fight in order to keep moving forward, then to fight starting over again!
BB Accomplishments:
Okay, someone said I should update my accomplishments, so here goes.....
I am 2 pounds short of having lost 60 lbs. total
I have learned to eat good and stick with a strict diet
I have not eaten chocolate or any other junk for 49 days straight!
And forget about not being interested in competing...... I think I'm hooked and when ready - maybe next year will try to do a competition. Thanks to Carla Hampshire for encouraging me to go for it!

Goal (Long):
With a small stature of 4'9" my excess weight showed up quickly. When I felt like it was hard to breathe and felt like I had to waddle when I walked I weighed myself. I was getting close to 200 lbs. I knew it was time to stop gaining weight. I have lost 40lbs. since Aug. 2006 and I want to loose 40lbs. more by Nov. 2007. I also want to start a weight lifting workout in order to tone and tighten as I go. I would like some definition of muscles and also a six pack. I want to stay active and feel good and be healthy. I look forward to feeling good enough to go swimming with my little girls and look good in a bathing suit!

I want to LOSE 80 lb

I had left a family July 4th picnic around 7:30 pm. I took a cousin home to get stuff to sleep over at my house with my 14 yr. old. We watched t.v. and they giggled and played. My 13 yr. old finally went to bed. And then my eyes were so heavy I left my 14 yr. old and her cousin giggling in...
definitely not the oldies the gym plays in the A.M.

just stay on top of things and you'll be fine! :) remember, if you have time to muck around, then you should have time to either study or workout. :D this will be my 2nd degree. so i already put in 4yrs for my bachelor's. took me 2 years of taking prereqs to get in this post-grad course... then my final 2 years and then take the board exams. ugh. but i chose it so who am i to complain. hehee.. loving it actually. :D
hey! how are you?? good luck in school! just bite the bullet right now and focus on studying. before you know it, you'll be done and working in your field! that's what i tell myself too. 2 more years and i'm good to go. lol
huny.. there are natural geniuses. those people who don't study but get good grades (much like those on here who are in great shape without having to exercise that much). AND there are people who are natural geniuses OF HARD WORK. People like us. People who don't have it easy but get the job done! Who do you think has more bragging rights? :) Don't be scared and do your best! Stop being the little engine that could... instead be the big engine that will. :D
It's good you're doing something different! don't let all those details psyche you out. if that's what you have to do.. then that's what you have to do! i was totally psyched out about going in to the Physical Therapy Assistant program... but i just took the classes they said i need. 2 years waitlisted but now i'm actually in the program already! good luck ma! i'm rooting for ya! :)
Hello Louann. It's great to know you're keeping your head above water. Plus I appreciate you taking time to send me a comment. Thanks for that. Keep your head up sweet lady. :)
give your son some time. of course he'll be like that... he'll learn to adjust soon enough. just keep the support going. as always, you and your family are in my prayers.
