When I Started:
Jan, 2004
How I Started:
I caught the fitness bug from a guy I met in college who was into bodybuilding, he convinced me to start lifting weights with him at the gym.
Why I Love It:
I enjoy all the benefits of working out, I'm stronger physically, mentally and spiritually. I enjoy the feeling of independence that comes from knowing who I am and what I am capable of. I am empowered to be able to do whatever needs to be done and I accept that sometimes I will make mistakes.
How I Stay Motivated:
I want to live a long healthy life and forging a strong fit body goes a long way towards that goal. I also find annoying ex-boyfriends to be a great motivation too, working out is such a great way to vent your frustrations.
BB Accomplishments:
It's not really a "bodybuilding" accomplishment, but I was able to push my stalled VW bug from the road to the shoulder by myself, I felt like a superhero.

I don't want an average body, I want a body that will stand out in a crowd, I want a body that will be noticed, I want jaws to drop when I walk by. My goal is to get fit and strong and to sculpt my body to perfection- I want the grace and flexibility of a dancer, the stamina of a gymnast, the endurance of a runner, and the power of a bodybuilder. I want to be stronger, faster and more agile than everyone around me - I will be an unstoppable force of nature!

How long do you rest between sets on average? Why?
Again, it depends on the workout. Typically it's 1 minute unless I'm doing abs in between everything else, then it's 2-3 minutes.

How many reps per set do you usually do? Why?
I vary my rep range, I'll shoot for 6-8 reps when I'm lifting heavy (and I like heavy) and other times I'll go for 15-20 (sometimes more) when I'm lifting a little lighter and of course it will change if I'm going giants, supersets, or drop sets. My goal is be at failure when I'm doing my last reps.I vary my rep range, I'll shoot for 6-8 reps when I'm lifting heavy (and I like heavy) and other times I'll go for 15-20 (sometimes more) when I'm lifting a little lighter and of course it will change...more

What chest workout has worked best for you?
Benching - combination of incline, decline, or flat (drop sets) followed by dumbbell flyes and the butterfly machine. In a pinch, pushups!

Well, it's been a month since the breakup and I think I'm finally coming to grips with everything. I've been doing some meditation and just getting out with friends and meeting new people and it has helped immensely with getting past everything. I won't say I forgive my ex for everything...
I lift weights on a 3 day on/1 day off split, rotating between working upper body and lower body and abs, I like to lift heavy. I do cardio just 3 times a week, I prefer to run or cycle outdoors. As weather permits, I will sometimes do some rock climbing or cross country style running. ...
