When I Started:
Jan, 2007
How I Started:
Before high school, I was given a book called Arnold's encyclopedia of modern bodybuilding. This book changed my life. I started lifting, and reading everything I could get my hands on. I never kept my diet up though and of course my body suffered. But I attribute my passion for this sport to that book.
Why I Love It:
I love bodybuilding for the pump, the feeling of your veins getting ready to pop out of your skin. Also, the feeling of accomplishment when you get that last rep, or that extra 10 pounds on a lift.
How I Stay Motivated:
I print out my workout schedule a month in advance. Since I dont train on Sundays, I just leave that box open and use it to calculate my weight every week. This visual aid really helps. I also log everything I eat and lift, this helps me keep records and I think that being able to see these records is what keeps me motivated. I also edify my goals by telling everyone I know what I am trying to do so that inadvertently they are holding me accountable. Lastly, I use Bodyspace, videos from bodybuilding.com and youtube, and of course magazines to keep me motivated.

this was taken at 320. i cant believe i got this big. Where did my athleticism go?
Get a V taper instead of looking like a tire with wings!
Goal (Long):
I want to lose enough of this tub of jelly around my middle while holding onto every ounce of muscle i have. I love being a big guy and dont want that hollywood, lifeguard physique. I want a bodybuilder physique! BIG ARMS, CHEST SHOULDERS, ETC. not the guys who are cut but only weight 150-170 pounds. That isnt me. I like having big muscular arms, I love having thighs that dont fit into pants correctly with my legs showing muscle when i wear shorts. I just want to also have this fat on my stomach gone. The back is there, but I would like to hopefully add a little muscle on my chest. The goal is ultimately to weigh around 225-230. I believe that at that level I will be around 6-8% bodyfat and will feel like I hit the Lotto!. Today is December 4, 2007, and I am giving myself smaller goals of weighing 300 by December 31st, 285 by February 1st, 270 by March 1st, and so on until I weigh about 225 on June 1st. This may seem agressive, but I will adjust accordingly if I see too much muscle loss or lack of strength.
Ok, so 2800 clean calories, 300 grams of protein and two killer workouts lter, i gotta say, i feel great and am so excited about training in my new surroundings.... had a great shoulder workout yesterday. time for legs this morning. cant wait to barely walk tomorrow. oh and, Go lakers!
I know that I should do cardio in the morning and lift later in the day to maximize fat loss, but I have found that sometimes things come up in the evening that prevent a workout. So this is what I follow and i have actually gained an inch on my arms, calves etc, and lost a considerable amount...
I just thought that I would drop you a line to tell you that my wife, and your friend (bodyspace: judimax) is having a birthday on Saturday April 5th and is turning 48. I think she looks fantastic for not only 48 but for any age, but then again I am biased. If you get a chance she would be surprised (and love it) if you would drop by and wish her a Happy Birthday.
