awesome, glad to hear it. I've been kinda sick all week so another wasted training week and not eating enough. But feeling better, should be a good weekend. I hope you have a good weekend too
nice, I saw your deadlift video pretty impressive. I know what you mean about squating with a sore back it just kills it if you trying to move up in weight. My lifts are going up but i had to move them back down so I'm trying to get back to where i was. Its alot faster to get back but I still hate lifting less than i was, haha. I hope you having a good weekend, anything fun going on?
You are very welcome! Yes, im from there. My parents still live there so i come visit them every so often. And usually stop in to see the guys at InkLink. Chris is still working on my left arm sleeve and Matt has my right leg. They're great guys. Anyways, have a great weekend!
Sounds like a great gym you have there! Now if only there was a way to bridge the gap between NC and MN so we could pull off this tank top training idea...
haha, that is so true, i think the worst is lower back from deadlifts, makes me feel super old to be that sore, haha. Thanks for the encourgement. Are you making some good gains on your lifts?
I like it! We just need to A. get one of your arms fully sleeved and B. find a way to bridge the gap between NC and MN. Hmmmm. The powerlifting gym sounds pretty awesome. Any big names there? I used to drive an hour each way for my bench workouts before my current gym started up. That wasn't fun. Either way it sounds like you have access to two great gyms! What are you looking at for attempts in your upcoming meet?
You are awesome, thanks for the kind words! Now if only there was a way to get you to train at my gym... Haha. Maybe turn one of your half sleeves into a full sleeve? That'd be hot.
Does the gym you train at have powerlifting equipment, a deadlift platform, or anything other than the typical commercial gym stuff? Maybe a reverse hyper and/or glute ham raise?
I just had my arm worked on last night. If you get a chance, check out the pics I uploaded.
Tattooing isn't comfortable, but the end result is morrrre than worth it hahaha.
Any new ink in the works for yourself?
Thanks! Your profile pic isn't too shabby either.
Training is going surprisingly well. I'm still hitting PRs at my new bodyweight, and not too far off from my all-time best when I was in the 290s. My dietitian just put me on zero carbs each week, with one cheat meal. I'm still adjusting to it. Getting leaner each week, so I can't complain!
Are you keeping a log anywhere yet? ;) What is stalling with your squat?
Haha thanks. The shoulder will heal, I'm just glad it's happening now as I'm dieting/dropping a few weight classes vs. being in training mode for a comp. It's making slow and steady progress...
As for the cardio, I have to do it 6 days/week. On training days I have an hour in the morning on an empty stomach. On my off days I have 20min HIIT/40min steady state on an empty stomach in the morning, and then another 45 minutes in the evening. It's brutal, but it's working!
I personally wouldn't squat twice a week. Both the squat and the deadlift are so taxing on the body, combining them on the same day after already squatting earlier in the week could be a bad plan. I personally would just squat Monday and deadlift Thursday, that's what I do!
Training is slow and annoying. My left shoulder keeps hurting in all angles possible, so it went from limiting my bench to now my deadlift/shrugs. Cry me a river, I know. Still dieting with Shelby!
