My Motivation Program

A lobster, when left high and dry among the rock, does not have the sense enough to work his way back to the sea, but waits for the sea to come to him. If it does not come, he remains where he is and dies, although the slightest effort would enable him to reach the waves, which are perhaps within a yard of him. The world is full of human lobsters; people stranded on the rocks of indecision and procrastination, who, instead of putting forth their own energies, are waiting for some grand billow of good fortune to set them afloat.

DanND33 He was fond of introspection, and well practiced. Frequently he would come across some random bar buffoon who would make a disparaging comment about his general demeanor and that would give him pause. Days afterwards he would dissect the comments the beer swilling swine had had made to such a degree that each word, each nuance of inflection would be vivisected and laid bare, and added to his overall sense of self. DanND33 when I was a kid, my family would go on long road trips and instead of stopping at some hotel along the way my Dad would load up on coffee and drive through the night. I would lay in the backseat and imagine the window being a magical barrier between life (cozy warmth in the car) and death (malnurishment, confusion and cold) and if I were to hold my hand out the window, I could feel the slippery tendrils of Death himself slipping though my fingers Nov 4, 2012 2:12pm
