Addin more weights into my workouts and working towards more lean muscle

Background
I've never been into sports... actually I still don't like sports! I was always into academics; a book nerd that loves learning. The reason I work out is for my health and well being. Plus, who doesn't want to look good ;) I've never been one to workout much and so this is all still a learning process for me. I just recently decided to add more weights into my workouts. I want to add muscle and ditch all the excess cardio.
Working out makes my day better and gives me that extra confidence boost :)
