Overall Goal: I am a vocalist, so I aspire to have the body of a Superstar! I may even consider amateur contests, once I kick my training into high gear...
Fit Status:
adjusting to the back to school schedule... operating on too little sleep... ugh
In October 2001 I met a tall, dark, rugged, ripped hockey player named Cody. I would tell him how self-conscious I was about my legs or my weight, and he told me straight up, "You are gorgeous! There is nothing wrong with your body whatsoever. But if you want to change your body, you know what you have to do. Just do it!" So I did!
Why I Love It:
When I get into my fitness, it's something I can do just for myself. Pushing past the limits of what is comfortable or easy is a conscious choice, and when I realize I am able to do things I couldn't do before, I know I'm making progress. Exercise helps me burn off stress, improves my self-esteem and keeps me grounded.
How I Stay Motivated:
When I set a goal, I lay out a plan and set out to do whatever it takes to get there. When life feels crazy, I make my fitness a priority, because my diet and my workouts are one thing I have some control over. When I set my mind to it and do the right thing day after day, the results speak for themselves! Results keep me motivated to get to the next level. Each week, I look back at what I accomplished and set a new goal, even if that's just getting out of bed quicker or making a small conscious diet change, if I reach that goal for the week, then that is an improvement I can be proud of!
BB Accomplishments:
I threw out all my "fat pants" purchased in 2008. I got back into my tight, skinny jeans from 2006, summer 2009, but now I gotta get back into them in 2010, and keep moving forward!

What progress, you ask, have I made? I have begun to be a friend to myself.

Goal (Long):
I want to build a long, lean, toned, defined, and utterly feminine physique. I tend to bulk up easily from lifting, and in the past, I felt like since I have these muscles, I might as well embrace them. In 2006, I became incredibly strong and muscular. Since then, life has taught me that, as a woman, carrying bulky muscle won't keep me safe. The power to stay safe comes from within, and that power comes from God.
Strength comes from having the courage to feel everything, no matter how painful, and transform that pain into something positive.
So I want to drop weight while keeping my energy stable and maintaining my overall health and well-being. I want to walk through the world a strong, confident young lady, with the body to match. I want to push past anything I've ever done before and see what my body can do!
I want to feel confident and look like a fitness model in pictures. I might eventually like to get certified as a yoga and/or group fitness instructor. I would even consider training to compete if the circumstances were right.
I haven't weighed 125 since the 5th grade, and I was heavy then. I want to see what I'd look like now at 125 and see where my body stablizes.
My 27th Birthday is about 8 weeks away... so I don't think it's realistic to drop 20-25 lbs in that timeframe. I'd like to train to bodyfat goals, starting with getting down below 19%, and I look forward to learning from other BodySpacers how I can set more effective goals.

Do you track your workouts (exercises, weight, reps, etc.)?
Yes
If so, how do you do it? Workout log, software program, etc.? Why do you do it this way?
When I was lifting, I brought paper with me to write down all my exercises, weight and reps. I can look back and see my progress, and know what a good weight for me to start at would be, based on my last few times doing that exercise. I didn't always keep the sheets in the same place, though, so it wasn't always that organized. More recently, I was sticking a star on the calendar for days when I work out, and just writing basically how long I ran, if I included steps or pushed intervals, or whose Yoga class I took. Looking back at the week and seeing how many stars I had would encourage me to do at least that much or more the next. When I was lifting, I brought paper with me to write down all my exercises, weight and reps. What type of person at your gym annoys you the most? Why?
Over-eager trainers who just won't take a hint and leave me alone to just do my workout in peace. If I want help, I'll ask! :D
I can't believe how quickly the time has passed, especially since Christmas! Thursday is already New Year's Eve, and I haven't been as disciplined as I would have liked the past few days. Not bad, but not great. I have honestly been depressed... trying to get to the heart of it and maybe...
Nice new pics - you continue to impress, and you look great in red & black! Hope you have a Merry Christmas, and more success & less drama in the upcoming New Year! :0)
