Background

When I Started: Oct 2001
HOW I STARTED:

In October 2001 I met a tall, dark, rugged, ripped hockey player named Cody. I would tell him how self-conscious I was about my legs or my weight, and he told me straight up, "You are gorgeous! There is nothing wrong with your body whatsoever. But if you want to change your body, you know what you have to do. Just do it!" So I did!

WHY I LOVE IT:

When I get into my fitness, it's something I can do just for myself. Pushing past the limits of what is comfortable or easy is a conscious choice, and when I realize I am able to do things I couldn't do before, I know I'm making progress. Exercise helps me burn off stress, improves my self-esteem and keeps me grounded.

My Motivation Program

When I set a goal, I lay out a plan and set out to do whatever it takes to get there. When life feels crazy, I make my fitness a priority, because my diet and my workouts are one thing I have some control over. When I set my mind to it and do the right thing day after day, the results speak for themselves! Results keep me motivated to get to the next level. Each week, I look back at what I accomplished and set a new goal, even if that's just getting out of bed quicker or making a small conscious diet change, if I reach that goal for the week, then that is an improvement I can be proud of!

Nice Lift yesterday - QUESTION for the GUYS - Please Comment

Hammies are sore today from that last Squat/Dead Superset yesterday.
I warmed up with Lat Pulldowns, 3 sets, then did some lightweight ballerina squat-presses with a body bar, light deads w the body bar and sg arm front delt lifts.  Then Malina came in the girls room where I was training and was doing these seated bench foot liftie thingies for abs, which I usually only ever do unweighted, so I did one set un-weighted and two or three sets lifting a 10 lb db with my feet, interspersed with more sets of squatpress, deads and delts.

Definitely Getting Back into the Groove

I'm definitely feeling good about getting back on track!

I have all my meals prepped on Sunday, and I'm sticking to my eating plan.  Last night, after 1295 Calories, I was feelin sorta hungry, so at the meeting, I had a half a cup of whole milk, with some warm water and a Splenda, plus my 100 Calorie ThinkThin protein bar bite - instead of any cookies, or those gosh-forsaken oatmeal sandwich thingies! lol  No coffee, either, and at 930, 10PM a half a melatonin ensured that I'd be out in no time.  Slept great, but it was hard to get up at 3:35AM with the alarm.  S...

I'm definitely not the only one who finds it tough to get back in a groove over the holidays, and tonight, I feel good about saying I'm finally coming out of my post-holiday funk.  I'm cooking up my meals for the week, and feeling some excitement about being back in the gym 5 mornings!  Between coming back to work, and a case of the "JANUARY's" (uhm, sunshine, please???), not to mention horemones, I can say it has been a decidedly uphill battle, which I have indeed fought valiantly.
