When I Started:
Jan, 2007
How I Started:
Started out about 2 years ago at 192 lbs. Lost 40 lbs, dropping down to 150 lbs. Then decided to take up weight lifting to keep myself active. I've since put on about 22 lbs.
Why I Love It:
It's become "what I do in the evenings". I used to eat dinner, then sit and watch TV till bed time, now I work out. Quite often my wife will work out while I am, so we still get to spend our evenings together.
How I Stay Motivated:
By charting my progress, and seeing the physical gains I'm making. Also, my wife comments quite often on how much more muscular I am now, than what I used to be.
BB Accomplishments:
First of all, losing the 40 lbs. Most recently, quitting smoking after smoking for about 30 yrs.
Maybe thats because she's not looking to put on mass? I tell the students in my classes to challenge themselves. If you can do the last 3 reps with no problem then its time to grab heavier weights. She is definitely benefiting. Something is better than nothing.
Weight training and Pilates both have their proper place. Weight training is obviously good for more than adding lean muscle but it is good for the bones, especially in women. Pilates on the other hand is core strengthening and lengthening of the spine. I love doing Pilates or yoga after an intense training session to stretch out.
Thanks for the kind words to an old guy like me. You think YOU'RE getting gray! Hey, you've made some good progress. That back pic from Nov 4 is impressive. Keep it up.
I apologize if this is the 2nd time sending the same email. I clicked submit and it said error.
I work in the fitness field and need to kick things up a notch.
Have a great Thanksgiving.

Continuing my previous comment...
Yesterday at my doctor's place, I had a complete (whole body) bone and Fat scan, which gave me a 29.4 BMI number. I'll receive the bone scan info in a week or two. But, the BMI is most interesting. It shows each body part with a total mass for each and % of Fat. It's fascinating to learn that I have more fat on my right leg than my left, etc. I'm not sure what it all means but it's interesting....

I think you're right about writing the w/o information down myself. I can see that so far I'm trying different things and hopefully in good form.... Yes, I'd be very interested in reading your routine, if you can send it to my regular e-mail addy. bush_ben@hotmail.com.

Good Morning Mr. Bush! LOL
Happy Thanksgiving! Hope all will be GREAT for Thanksgiving!
Quick question: I cannot seem to find any print feature for the exercises routines. Currently, I'm using an old notebook as my log which seems to be working as long as I don't get it wet. LOL
Warm regards,
Ben
