When I Started:
Jul, 2008
How I Started:
I started working out when I was 14. I joined a local gym and started step classes and lifting light weights. It was only 4 years ago that I got really serious about lifting heavy. I hired a trainer and he taught me everything that I know about working out. Recently, I started running and will be participating in my first half-marathon in October. I love exercising, but food is constant issue. Everyone says that good nutrition is 90% of getting the body you want and I'm really trying to fix my erratic eating habits.
Why I Love It:
It makes me feel strong. I rather lift weights everyday than run. I took up running as a challenge, but lifting is what I love best.
How I Stay Motivated:
Honestly, I've fallen off the bandwagon yet again! But, what really gets me going is seeing the amazing transformations on this website.

Ever since I have joined bodyspace, she has always pushed me and has always been extraordinarily supporting of me I am amazed at her dedication and amazing transformation. She constantly motivates me. Truly one of my favorite people on this site!
I just stumbled upon her blog and I was shocked to see how much her body has changed! Her transformation is amazing and inspirational and it has motivated me to get myself into shape.
Do you monitor your heart rate while doing cardio?
Yes
Do you use a heart rate monitor? Which one?
I just bought a Polar F6 HRM and it's absolutely fabulous.
What heart rate do you aim for while doing cardio? Why?
I try to work beyond my OwnZone of 132-152.

What is your favorite cardiovascular exercise? Why?
I really like spinning, but given that its 98F most evenings in Florida (where I am working this summer) I prefer to go for an early morning run most weekday mornings.
I hate weighing scales. Which one should I believe??? My own weighing scale states that I weigh 159 lbs. However, I weighed myself using my Mom's weighing scale today and got the shock of my life when it showed that I weigh 167LBS!!!!!!!! Which one to believe? Well, my friends always told me...
Aw, you have a great 4th as well my friend. PM me when you get a minute and let me know if you went on the Scivation site. How did you change your meal planning? Inquiring minds want to know:)
Great start and remember this is only the beginning for you imagine what is going to feel like when you step on the scale and 10 pounds... 15 pounds just melt off:)
Congratulations on your weight lost. Keep up the great work and never give up. Having patience will pay off at the end. Great job and good luck with your goals..
We all have to start somewhere.....and just think of how awesome you feel when you post pics later. Then you can say, WOW! Look what an awesome job I have done! That is the great thing about this site....people start at all stages. And we are here to help motivate and push each other through. For me, it took POSTING them for everyone to see to really make me realize what I needed to do. Either way, you are a beautiful woman and only good things are coming....
Where are your progress pics girl?? You should really put them up who cares what you look like you def need to see your changes as you go through the plan!! :)
actually im just on my third day I havent skip anything yet..but uhhh I have two more meals left today lol one is supposed to be in a couple min and Im stuffed.. I dont know what to do
Try to eat 5-6 times a day, small meals with proteins, carbs and fat (fish oil, peanut buttr, flax seed oil). Since you're doing all that running your carb intake is probably going to be just as important as your protein intake. Go to the bb.com SuperSite and check out some diet plans. You can also go to www.scivation.com, and they'll put a plan together for you based on your goals. And it's free! Let me know how it goes:-)
That is so so so awesome! WOW what a compliment! Girl you are so going to love being on our team! I have received so much support and motivation from the other Team Poynter members on this site! Have you joined the bodygroup yet? Keep it touch! What plan did you get?
